    Hops for anxiety

I don't know about hops helping anxiety, but a nice IIPA sure does calm the nerves.

    DIY Walk In Cooler Build

THIS. We put one in our mobile kegerator and it saves a lot of cooling. We put truck bed liner in the bottom of our cooler. It's waterproof and tough as nails. Plus the texture means less slipping.

Most Disgusting Beer Ever - Cucumber Flavored

Cigar City did a cucumber saison a while back. Tasted exactly like the cucumber salad you get with sushi. I wasn't impressed.

    South Florida Hop Growing

Well, my columbus is getting it's first side arms and cones! The tea maker is now over my head. I think I am finally getting the hang of this hop growing thing. What was the rule of thumb? What kind of fertilizer do you need when the cones start emerging?

    South Florida Hop Growing

The Teamaker hops have come back with a vengeance. Willamette died off a bit and is starting to come back. Columbus was covered in mildew and was dying, I trimmed it back, put in the drip irrigation and used neem oil on it. Magnum was stinted a bit, but is now growing good...

    Growing tips keeping breaking off

That was happening to mine too. It's not good. It stunts the growth of the plant. I think you should trim it down to the nearest healthy leaf bundle and a new spire will grow from there. I stopped watering mine and got a drip hose. That seems to help a lot. Also sprayed them with neem oil and...

    Double IPA

It's called a Double IPA because - I I PA; Imperial India Pale Ale Double and Imperial are the same thing in this case. You can have sweeter versions and you can have dryer versions, it's all in the same category, just a different interpretation.

    Mistakes. Read one, leave one.

My buddy came over to help me brew. We started drinking a lot of different beers. Next thing you know I forgot that I was filling/heating the HLT and another buddy comes over and says, "Hey that's an awesome waterfall you got in the garage! Is is supposed to smell like gas in there?" Oops.

What do you dislike about summer?

I love summer. Chicks walking around with barely anything on... well that just about trumps all the heat, humidity, bugs, and rain. I brew no matter what. It's going to be in the high 80's to 90 this weekend. I'm brewing 3 beers. To hell with the heat!

How much water is too much?

I installed a drip hose for my hops to better saturate the soil and avoid getting powdery mildew on the leaves. I put down mulch to help avoid evaporation and the sandy soil drains pretty well. How often should I water the hops? I'm in FL. It's already in the mid 80's to low 90's.

    Cascades in Key West

The tea maker hops looked like they were about dead. I pulled all the leaves (powdery mildew, bug eaten) and now it's growing like crazy again. I planted these using miracle grow top soil and black gold compost 50/50. They are in the ground. I put in a drip hose to avoid getting mildew again.

    Cascades in Key West

All of mine have stalled out at about 3 feet tall. I had some powdery mildew, some bugs, the spires broke off. They are just starting to come back. I have drip irrigation for them now and some neem oil spray. I'm gonna get these things to grow dammit.

I went "pro" - What it actually takes to do so

It's also much less of a hassle going from a 10gal tricked out homebrew set up to a 1bbl commercial set up. The brewing/fermenting is damn near the same just a little bigger. If you make the leap to the bigger set up you pretty much have to make it your primary job and go at it balls to the...
