Do you deserve your high school diploma?

I scored 97%, but I probably would've scored 80% straight out of high school.

    GRABASS Brew Fest

It was you who told me I didn't need to worry about the sun until I was full of alcohol... or something like that. :drunk:

    GRABASS Brew Fest

Indirect just means that the food is not directly over the heat source, and so it cooks from heat reflected by the lid and by the ambient temperature in the grill. With a propane grill, you can usually turn on one burner, then place the food over burners that are off. With charcoal, you can...

    GRABASS Brew Fest

Hey, thanks! When you try 'em, be patient and let it cook over indirect heat until the bacon is done. Every time I make these, I extend the cook time. I think they were on over an hour today, indirect @ 300F.

    GRABASS Brew Fest

Maybe flip it over? :D I'll upload 'em Monday and post some pics. Hey, we had a great time today! I think I left the following stuff behind: camera (doh!), burner, hydrometer jar, and a blue t-shirt.

1st brew in over a year

Wow! 20 gallons! :ban: Man, I'd be worried that my stove would buckle under the weight. How long does it take to bring that to a boil?? My DCS range claims something like 15k btu's per burner, but I'm eyeing a 100k burner just to speed up my little 5 gallon boils. Then again, I'm pretty...

    Cures for hangovers

In addition to all the great advice so far (liquids, vitamins, hair'o'dog, etc.), you also need a healthy dose of FAT! Think Waffle House. Get a newspaper. Order a waffle, hash browns (scattered, smothered, and covered), side of bacon. Also coffee, OJ, and a diet pepsi. Hang out for a...

    VOTE: Shirt Design

I voted for #3. I like the clean design. My only suggestion: it needs more hops! :D

    What Temp for Lagering?

I've never heard of using multiple yeast strains in a single beer. Have you tried this before? Where did you get the idea? Sounds interesting. As for fermentation temperature, is there any intersection between the recommended ranges for the specific yeasts you're using? Perhaps post the...

    NCers: Celebration Ale?

I was out at Total Wine at Crossroads. They just started carrying Clipper City beers in the last few weeks. Man, I really need them to open a store out here. That 50 mile drive across Cary sucks... Hey, thanks! And I feel like I'm only 50! :ban:

    NCers: Celebration Ale?

I'll put one of those "Stop Cary" signs in my yard if it'll make ya feel better :D I was over on the other side of Cary earlier today, looking for SNCA. They said it was on tap at Flying Saucer as of Friday, and they expected to get it in within two weeks. I did snag a six-pack of Clipper...

    NCers: Celebration Ale?

Has anyone found Celebration Ale in the Triangle yet? I hear it's been released. Also, while googling for it, I found a review of a Sierra Nevada "Torpedo Ale", which is supposed to be much like SNCA. Is there a local joint that has SN seasonal brews on tap? Has anyone tried it? ps. I...
