    Yep totally agree with Talcottsk, go the extra apple juice! I normally use an extra 6-8 litres in mine to make up the total volume. never had a problem with lacking taste then! I have tried some kit ciders with nothing added and yeah they tend to be a bit weak.

    Before capping I sit the caps in freshly boiled water, it might be an overkill but ensures they are clean as can be, it also softens them so capping is easier(hhahahahahaha)

    Yeah my HBS sells them as "Goodies Packs" a mix of dex, light dry malt and corn syryp mostly. I don't normally get them, I just add more malt and not worry about the dex. the corn syryp aids head retention tho.

    Bottles: Is Bigger Better?

    I have 3 sizes, 500ml, 750ml and 1lt. The 750s are for me and beer and the others are flip top Grolshy types that are used exculsively for the wifes Cider, cos they are "pretty bottles". (shes always more fun tho when shes been drinking the litre bottles . Hahaha)

    Hey guys, I need a bit of advice on spicing , should I boil the spices (I'm thinking Cinnamon and cloves) in some Apple juice first and add this when cooled, or just chuck them in raw? Any help would be appreiciated cheers

    BTF Idophor

    I use Idofor as well but it only effective while it is still the yellowy colour, after that it isn't doing anything:D
