Does the freezer keep the fridge cold? I see people rip them out, but the wire from the controller goes to mibe and there are no fans or anything. Its an older model.
On the 9th there is going to be a deal of 4 pots (8, 12, 16, and 20 quarts) for $35. Just letting everybody know.

Beer Calculus is a pretty cool site. Thank You! Tweaked slightly to 2 oz Saaz and 1 oz Cascade. Puts it at 19.4 IBUs. Took off a little malt (Id hate to waste) and have it sitting at 5.7%. I guess I could maybe shave off a little more malt. I don't want to wast though since I plan on ordering...
You take a reading of the unfermented wort. Then you take readings when you think it is done and when they are the same reading for at least two days you subtract the first (Orignal Gravity) from the second (Final Gravity).
It probably means 5-7 days in the primary and 4-6 days in the...
I want to get away from the kits and make my own "flavor" of beer. I like Karl Strauss Woodie Gold so I based this off that and off dragonlor20's clone. Here is what I got and wanted some opinions.
9.15 lbs Pilsen Malt
3.15 lbs Gold Malt
1 lb Belgian Biscuit Malt
1 lb Gambrinus Honey Malt...
People are just greedy and always think about money. How much stupid stuff do you see people selling on craigslist and ebay? Nobody wants to give anything away for free.
I think I have the same problem. I ran into a guy from work out in the field today and he has some decent experience brewing and he said that you can just add the remaining water before bottling. Is this true? It defiantly seems safer than guessing how much sugar and risking bottle bombs.
HA I was totally thinking about this today so you read my mind. I was thinking about brewing this next. People say it taste like chocolate milk so just add whiskey.
I don't know I just followed the directions lol. It was a kit so it shouldn't have been the IBUs I did only concentrated a gallon and a half. I need a bigger brew pot.
Idk if I feel too bad. It cost me 70 bucks at the store and only 40 online. They charged $10 for a steeping bag. Besides, theyre brew is well known around here.
I defiantly wouldnt worry about a few drops. For my first batch I put it in a cooler full of ice and water and it shifted and let in a decent ammount of water. Beer came out pretty good (was pretty bitter though which could have been an infection?)
Had a Karl Strauss IPA. I wouldn't say it was too good though. In fact, everyone said they liked my homebrew better. Kind of had an iron (or bloody) taste to it which is kind of weird. Only 6.5% alcohol and $4 for 1 22 ouncer. Drinkable, but nothing special.
Ya I think youll also come around. I started off like that, now I hate light beers. Try a pilsner. (If you can get ahold of Karl Strauss Woodie Gold try that)
