    So who's brewing this weekend?

I brewed an English IPA yesterday, great brew, all the numbers fell in line, fermenting like crazy My Brother brewed a stout, everything looked great, but the OG came out at 1.070 as opposed to the 1.060, we double checked everything, and couldn't figure out what happened there, so we just...

People that won't drink your beer...

This was what I was going to say pretty much exactly. I was that guy who tried a friends "Mr. Beer" and it was awful, stayed away from home brew for a long time because of that original experience.

    What are you drinking now?

Hmm, Started with Guinness Black Lager (new beer here, pretty tasty). Then went to the home brew American Brown that just hit 3 weeks in bottle (fantastic) Sampled my Irish red (2 weeks in bottle, way too green) Then moved on to Sam Adams Oktoberfest. Ran out of the Sams and went back to the...

My Brother and I started brewing Sept 10th. As of Today, we have brewed 8, 5 Gallon Batches. Seems like it may be a bit much... However, we are having a blast even though we only been able to drink one batch so far, and it is fantastic. So far we have brewed (in order) American Brown...

    High Altitude Brewing (Color?)

Our boiling point is 197. We do use well water that comes out at about 48. The wort chiller is great, we can get to 80 from 197 in about 5 minutes. Both the recipes were "box" with their own stats. We put those recipes into BrewMate and the numbers came out the same. Now I am only more...

    Plastic taste after bottling

Did you use a plastic (PET) carboy, plastic bottling bucket or glass carboy? I prefer glass for all things. Just for reference, if you did use PET, get a bottle of water from anywhere, let it sit in the sun a day or 2 and taste the water.

    High Altitude Brewing (Color?)

I hope there are some high altitude brewers here. My brother and I have recently taken up home brewing and have had a wonderful success so far. The problem is, we brew at 8,200 ft in elevation. We have seen in these forums that hops might be a bit less efficient at this altitude, but we have...

Worst Commercial Beer You've Ever Had?

Fischer LaBelle (European Pale Lager). Hands down the worst beer I have ever tasted. Thankfully I haven't seen it in several years, so hopefully someone finally put it out of its misery.

Hello From Coal Creek Canyon CO

Hey everyone, happy to be here. I used to work in a brewpub (in the kitchen ) many years ago. At that time I did manage to get in one 8 barrel brew under my belt. However I have just started brewing at home with my brother, and it is going great!! We have 4, 5 gal batches under our...
