Galvanized Steel Rollers for Grain Mill

Clem... a thousand thanks for the input. As far as the cap goes, I was only going to cap one end on each pipe and offset them so that I could close the gap without interference from the cap. I was not aware of the tolerances, so this is good stuff. This is just the info I was looking for...

Galvanized Steel Rollers for Grain Mill

If the zinc layer is disrupted, basically I'm left with a steel roller, no? Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I assumed grain mills were made exclusively from steel at one point in time. Nevertheless, can you minimize corrosion (e.g. if it's kept dry) on a steel roller or is rust inevitable? As far...

Galvanized Steel Rollers for Grain Mill

Since my LHBS is now charging for crushing grain, I've used such as an impetus to finally get my grain mill project off the ground. While browsing through the plumbing section at my local big box this past weekend, it struck me: why not use galvanized steel pipe for the rollers? It's...

    "Class 3" Ball-Lock Kegs

Follow-up: After seeing some of the responses here, I did a bit of research for any vendor I could find online (via simple Google search) retailing used 5gal cornies (I excluded any retailer who wouldn't quote shipping without creating an account, any retailer selling tanks "as-is" or non-tested...

    "Class 3" Ball-Lock Kegs

Thanks for the responses... I can't find ball-locks cheaper than $50 locally (with tax), so even $120 with shipping from BE is a 40% discount off what I'd pay at the LHBS. As long as the things hold pressure, I could care less what they look like.

    "Class 3" Ball-Lock Kegs

Beverage Elements (http://www.bvrgelements.com/keg_products.html#ck1n5) has 4pks of "Class 3 Cut Handle" ball locks for $72.95 + S&H. They advertise that these kegs have more scratches and dents, but are pressure checked. My questions: 1) Has anyone ever ordered one (or more) of these...
