    Building a keezer

    Thanks for the info! Do you guys use the oetiker clamps or just regular hose clamps? I'm not sure what the benefit of the oetiker is and they seem like a big hassle if I have to remove.

    This is a general question about cost. I've priced everything out for a three tap keezer, and it seems it will cost about $700. That's with a cheap freezer off of Craig's list for 50. Anyone have tips to reduce cost?

    All finished up... Made a few slight changes due to taste preferences. Only 8oz honey, instead of 16. Added cinnamon, nutmeg, pie spice and 1tsp vanilla extract at flameout instead of during the boil. OG was 1.052 and pitched yeast around 76 deg.

    Thanks! It's actually in a dark room (no windows and lights off). I just had the light on to siphon to the secondary and took the picture right after I finished.

    Mine stuck at 1.02 as well.

    Transferred to the secondary after gravity stabilized at 1.02, so that I can free up the primary for more brewing. The sample from the hydrometer tasted great, even this early and flat! Moral is the story is that I need more primaries!

    Awesome! I love checking on my beer. It's going to a long 7 wks!! I had a very vigorous fermentation going the first 24 hrs and it has slowed considerably since. I'm assuming this is normal?

    One hell of a fermentation started while at work today! Glad I put the blow off hose on last night. Will I need to clean this at some point or will it be ok?
