First Keg and too much carb?

Hello fellow Rochesterian! I tried the shaking thing my first couple of kegs and got a lot of foam (5 foot lines and I had it set to 12 psi). Last couple of kegs, I set the pressure to 30 psi for a week, then decreased to 8psi. The 30psi --> 8psi has worked the best for my setup. Beer has...

    Cleaning kegs?

I just rinse everything out with water and then fill with a mixture of Idophor and water until I'm ready to use again. Seems to work fine for the few I've done it with

Beer tax proposed to curtail teen drinking

No, and that's the problem. They get their money, find things to spend it on, then when they have the opportunity for more money, they find more things to spend it on (and the people / entities receiving the money are just a guilty, they won't say, "we don't need that aid anymore"). Taxes are...

Beer tax proposed to curtail teen drinking

I hate NY :( Property, school, income and other taxes are high enough already. Many of the upstate communities are shrinking in business and people. Raising taxes and increasing spending is just another stick in the eye and means to forcing more folks out of the state. If it weren't for...

    Vanilla Stout

Extract is generally an alcohol solution. I don't think you'd need or want to heat it

    Posting Beer smith files?

I think they're submitted by various people, they've got different names on them --though a lot are from the same person. Who they people are though, I have no idea

    Anyone using BeerSmith regularly ?

Being in the software development field, I can really appreciate the work and testing that had to have gone into beersmith. Before I found it, I kicked around the idea of building my own app --so once I found it, I was really impressed with it's capabilities. For the price, you can't make...

    Hello from Albany, New york

Hey, Rochester here. Too bad you're not closer, I'm looking to do some bulk grain purchases and would like someone local to share with since I can't use 50 lbs in a reasonable time

    Hi from Rochester NY

Thanks. For future reference to folks in Rochester, "Rochester Welding Supplies" on state street across from Kodak office does co2 refills. A bit pricey at 14 and some change for 5lbs, but about the only place in the city that does it.

    Hi from Rochester NY

Hi all, First off, thanks for the helpful forum! I've been brewing off and on for about 4 years now; started out with Mr Beer kits and have been wandering into All Grain land. On the topic of all grain and kegging, does anyone in the Rochester area know of places that refill co2? Well...
