    Stainless Steel Fusti for Conditioning

Hey there, old thread I know, but did you ever get this up and running? How did the fusti cope with holding pressure/being airtight?

Purging/flushing pumps and lines with C02

Hey day_trippr, do you think I could run CO2 through the in-line to the pump and it would flow all the through? Were you suggesting I turn the pump on while doing this or actually use CO2 pressure to push through the lines/pump? Don't know whether the latter would damage the diaphragm...

Purging/flushing pumps and lines with C02

Does anyone ever purge their transfer pumps and lines with C02 before running beer through? I have a diaphragm pump (like the one that comes with the Blichmann quick carb) that I use for various things - transferring beer, pushing beer through a filter, running my DIY quick carb. I...

anyone use a quick carb motor to filter?

Hey auggiedoggy, I'm going to try out your method this weekend. Could you share a bit more detail on your setup? I assume you are going: keg liquid out -> pump in/out -> filter in/out -> keg gas in Is that right? Once you're satisfied the filtering is done, how do you get the beer that...

anyone use a quick carb motor to filter?

Hey augiedoggy, do you do this before you use the quickcarb to carb the beer? Or the other way around? Do you find the beer gets foamed up a lot during the recirculation? I assume you draw from the liquid out and go back in through the gas in?

anyone use a quick carb motor to filter?

I did something like that on my last brew. I have a shurflo 2088 diaphragm pump and a 1 micron reusable filter. I connected the pump-in hose directly to the valve on my fermenter (I use a stainless steel fusti), the pump-out hose to the filter-in, and the filter-out to my purged keg. It went...

    Using camlock as bulkhead fitting

Thanks, that is exactly my current setup! With one of these threaded on the inside https://www.brewhardware.com/product_p/nptswivelcooltouch12barb.htm. The problem is I need something more low profile ie. doesn't stick out so much on the inside of the pot. I have a BIAB system and just had a...

    Using camlock as bulkhead fitting

Has anyone ever tried using a camlock (type F) as a bulkhead fitting together with a lock nut? I need to make a low profile bulkhead that has a camlock on the outside and 1/2" MPT on the inside. Was thinking why not just use the camlock itself. So chain would be: camlock (type F)...

Food safe pump? Does it need to be?

Thanks all. I'll try again to find out the construction materials, but it seems like I should be good.

Food safe pump? Does it need to be?

Hi all, I need some advice please. I have got hold of a Resun MD 55 magnetic drive pump (http://www.resun-china.com/en/product/detail/id-289.html). It’s basically a copy of the corresponding Iwaki pump. I intend to use this in a clean-in-place/sanitize-in-place setup for a corny keg...

    Passivate new corny keg?

So I'm just starting out with kegging and bought myself a brand new AEB keg. I assumed this keg would be passivated at the factory, but now I'm wondering whether this is in fact the case? When I got my SS Brewbucket recently that did not come passivated and I had to do it myself. Does...
