    attaching bazooka screen

I made a keggle out of a sanke. I used a weld be gone fitting. The weld be gone fitting protrudes into the keggle and it is threaded on the inside. I also purchased a bazooka T screen with a sanke adapter. The sanke adapter screws into the weld be gone fitting and the bazooka T slides on to the...

need a favor: how deep in the carboy?

I cleaned the side of the carboy w/ rubbing alch, then marked the carboy with a black sharpie and placed good quality clear packing tape over the marking. Looks like a little laminated square on the side of the carboy. I have not had a problem with it coming off.

    How much Irish moss?

Too much will just clog you funnel filter with irish moss, it swells and gets jelly like when it re hydrates. 1 teaspoon is fine, you are just wasting it if you use more.

    Using a conical fermentor

Get the gasket! See if you can devise some clamping mechanism to keep the laid in tight contact w/ the gasket.

    bottle washer question

Go to the hardware store and get an inline valve for the side line, so when you have your bottle washer hooked up you can turn off the flow.

    Using a conical fermentor

with that conical you have to rack or transferr after your fermentation is complete, ie 2-5 days down thwe road. It is like doing you primary in a bucket and not in a carboy. The co2 will start to dissapate if there is no air tight seal on the fermentor and there is no active fermentation happening.

    Second Brew Is Under Lock

All the urquell i get in chicago is skunk. That is why i hate that crap.
  15. AHammer16

This has been asked before, I'm sure....

Wont the beer absorb the co2 and drop the pressure in the corny? If you prime instead of force carb. will the pressure inhibit the yeast?

    quick hops question

I just brewed 2 batches on Wed. using both pellet and whole/ leaf hops. I think the leaf hops are better. I ate a couple of leaves to tase them ansd get an idea about flavor and the leaf hops were more flavorful and much more bitter than the pellets. Plus the leaf hops dont make a freaking mess...

    wort chiller design

I think it means that the water flow is too high. That is not a bad thing unless you are trying to save on water bills.

    Dextrose Question?

The rule for beer is hops water malt and yeast. Sugar is bad to use as your main fermentable. Look in the recipie section to get an idea of the amounts of ingred. in 5 gallon batches, then get a recipie and stick to it. Corn sugar works great for priming but makes beer taste like watery trash...
