Planning out my automated 10G electric brewery

Biggest issue is going to be power. You may have 3 separate outlets but do you have 3 separate circuits? A 1500w element running at 120v is going to need 12.5 amps. You could run 3 at a time if each of thos outlets had their own circuit which seems very unlikely and if all of those outlets...

Any reason to choose 4500 over 5500?

Only reason would be if you need to run a secondary element at the same time for a RIMS or some other use and needed to stay below a certain amps. 5500w @ 240v = ~23a 4500w @ 240v = ~18.75a

My attempt at a 20 gallon, future-prrof system with stout tanks

I tried to talk to both the welders about this and both just wanted to fill the whole keg/kettle with gas. For mine, with 2 x15gal and a 20gal kettle they basically had a line item for "50 gallons" worth of argon. I plan on having all my holes cut before I bring them my kettles and the...

My attempt at a 20 gallon, future-prrof system with stout tanks

That looks like a pretty good weld to me. I've seen a lot worse. I'm not sure if your thoughts that it would cost pennies to fill the kegs with argon are correct. If you think about it, each keg is 15.5 gallons so if they fill it completely you are looking at something along the lines of 45...

Maryland 15 gallon thermoelectrically cooled conical project

Wish I could get just those aluminum heat syncs! I just purchased a Stout fermenter and have been eyeing that same write-up you linked.

    Problem with Barley Crusher Mill

And unfortunately they only show up here on the forums to bash the competition and not to add any value.

    Question about welded couplers/bulkheads

Thanks guys. My main concern was from the sanitary/cleaning side of things on the inside but I don't want a full coupler sticking outside my pot either so I think I will just go half and half. I believe I have finally found a welder who seems to know what he's talking about and has the...

    Question about welded couplers/bulkheads

About to have my female couplers welded into my kettles for my lines. I know it's more personal preference than anything but those that have been here before....... Did you weld them so that they were flush/nearly flush with the inside of the kettle or did you weld them so the coupler was...

    List of PJ Electrical Diagrams

P-J, just wanted to start by saying thank you once again. I've been reading so many of your previous posts and have been learning so much. Just when I felt I had a good understanding of 120v wiring I start looking into an electric brewery with 240v and it seems like that 1 extra wire/leg makes...

    Pumpkin tap handle

Don't worry, if some popular microbrewery came out with a tap handle that looked like that people would be all over it and trying to get one. It's unique and that's what counts!

    BYO Double Pipe Wort Chiller

I am definitely interested as well. I may end up building one but with hunting season here time is valuable and just buying something is fairly attractive right now. I have a brand new Chillius Convuluted Chiller waiting to go but I live out in the country and am on a well and am looking at...

    Brewhardware new RIMS tube

LOL, I think out of the 4 orders or so I've placed at least 3 of those I've emailed him/ordered again/added something on and worked with him to get it out in the same box and save shipping costs. I finally had to stop looking at his site until my order arrived.

    Brewhardware new RIMS tube

He's always been quick to answer my many emails. Make sure a spam filter somewhere isn't eating yours. BTW, a little birdy told me that some backordered posts went out late last week. I'm expecting my tube and element hardware tomorrow. :)

    Stout Brew Kettles

Wish I would have seen this prior to ordering my new fermenter. I would have went with a different option and let them know why. This is no way to treat a customer,I think it's a valid option to offer in a situation like this but definitely shouldn't be the only option.

Has anyone completely replaced the lid of a keezer?

Nicely done. Gives me the courage to move forward with my plans. A full write-up will be included once it's complete.

Has anyone completely replaced the lid of a keezer?

Curious what type of wood/insulation construction could be used to completely replace the factory lid on a keezer? I have a build idea that won't work with the factory lid, I'd like to build the replacement with wood an insulation similar to a collar but for the whole top. Would a sheet of the...

    My Kenmore 7.2 Coffin Keezer

Looks great. I got the same freezer sitting in my basement waiting for me to do something. I love the look of the false doors in front. Still trying to figure out how to do mine with a collar so I can fit 6 kegs but still have it easy enough to add/remove kegs as needed. Taps on the front...

    3 Prong 240v outlet question

In attempt to answer my own question I found this thread. Going to read it again in the morning but I think I'm starting to understand. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f170/bcs-460-3-elements-2-pumps-288207/
