    Vent-matic Faucets Status?

The wife ordered me several of the Ventmatic's as a Christmas present. She just got an email a few minutes ago letting her know they were cancelling the order and returning her money. Below is their reasoning. Glad they are being honest and thankful I can wait for V2.... The reason for...

    CHUBBY Brewing's Official Build Thread

Trying to decide the layout for the internal components has to be the hardest part of the build so far. Want to lay them out in the way that makes the most sens but I keep switching things around. Here's how I got it so far. Recpetacles are in, need to mount the Cat 5 panel for Network and...

    CHUBBY Brewing's Official Build Thread

A little progress, got the switches and button mounted on the door of my panel. The receptacles are mounted on the bottom of the enclosure as well, I'll try and grab a pic. Hoping for a nice soldering iron for Christmas so I can get a move on with the wiring. Also hope to have the internal...

    UNBREAKABLE plastic hydrometers coming soon?

Wish there were better pics of the fermenter. Not that I'd get one but I'd be interested in seeing it closer up. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004QCXWSA/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

Best soldering tool (iron, torch, etc.)?

This is not out of the reach of the normal homebrewer but I commend your honesty in realizing it's out of your reach.

Temperature probe location on a RIMS

I was going to mount mine at the output of the MLT but I think based on the info that I'll go with the outlet of the RIMS tube. I can always change it but it makes sense.

Planning on first build that will allow upgrades.

I would consider getting one of these kits to install the element in your pot. http://www.brewhardware.com/rimsherms-parts-93/176-elementparts It may cost a bit more up front but if you switch pots you can always just get a block-off plate for the triclover port and continue using the old...

    18-24" 6AWG Wire

Looking for a short piece of 6AWG wire to go from my spa panel to my control box. They are going to essentially be mounted right next to one another and hardwired together, 1ft would probably do it but a little more for that oops factor can't hurt. figured before I ran out and bought some...

    CHUBBY Brewing's Official Build Thread

I want to see some blinking lights and shiny things too!! Deer hunting took a large chunk of time out of my schedule but we're getting back at it now. All the holes in my kettles are drilled and ready for my welder to have some time. I confirmed the future keezer and controller work well by...

    Knockout Punch For Element?

I just got a 1", 1.5" and 2" Greenlee off Ebay for just under $50 total. I will be returning the 1.5" I got off Amazon for $80+ as soon as I confirm these are not conduit punches(based on the part numbers they shouldn't be). Now I can use a punch for both the weld-in element kit from Bobby as...

    Electric grain mill build help

I would go with either a Monster Mill if you can swing it our otherwise the cereal crusher from AiH for a more economical choice. I was going to get a Barley Crusher until I read of some of the problems people were having, the struggles they had getting support, as well as some posts.by the BC...

    Warming a fermentation chamber

There is a delay, it takes like 3-5 minutes until the device it's controlling powers on. How long did you let it sit all plugged in?

northern brewer pin lock keg system

I believe pin locks are normally taller and skinnier too. Have to be careful add certain keezers can fit more or less depending on ball or pin lock. Or are pin locks shorter and fatter??? I know it's one of the two. Grrrr

My attempt at a 20 gallon, future-prrof system with stout tanks

My plan is for the HLT and MLT the temp probes will be placed in a T fitting on the output from the kettle. Since I will essentially always be recirculating liquid in those 2 kettles this should give an accurate temp reading. For the BK I am just putting a fitting in the side of the kettle...

My attempt at a 20 gallon, future-prrof system with stout tanks

The 1.5" TC element enclosures from brewhardware.com are very nice as well. I really like the finished look they give. http://www.brewhardware.com/rimsherms-parts-93

Planning out my automated 10G electric brewery

Very nice, at first glance it seems doable then. Only concern may be the use of an electric element inside an Igloo cooler. Not sure I've seen that done and what could be done to aleviate concerns regarding grounding, etc. Back to back batches may be challenging also but you may be able...
