Dry hopping process in a conical questions

So I'm fairly new using a Stout conical fermenter and have a question on how you all handle dry hopping. I have a 10 gallon batch in a 15 gallon conical, need to add 4oz of leaf hops to the batch. Do you all just throw the leaf hops straight in and let them settle out on their own? Do...

Jaded CFC vs. STAINLESS CONVOLUTED COUNTERFLOW CHILLER

I use the JaDeD CFC and have been quite happy with it. I've only used it with 2 batches so far but clean up was super easy and it seemed to cool my wort effectively. I don't have anything to compare it to though for cooling effectiveness as I recently built out my new system after being out of...

[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

Anyone know how the John Guest fittings are sized? If I want to go from my Bev-Seal tubing in/out of the flow meters without using a barb which of these would work? Bev-Seal is 3/16" ID and 5/16" OD. http://www.freshwatersystems.com/p-2391-john-guest-reducer-stem-316-x-38-stem.aspx or...

    Electric BrewEasy

    He means with a 500w loss the 2250w element becomes a 1750w and the 3750w becomes a 3250w. So it's not 3750w vs 2250w, it's more like a 3250w element vs a 1750w element.

BCS-460 wiring (ground) question and PID temp display connections

I wish I added those to my panel when I built it. Not sure I could fit them in now but it would be handy to see temps at a glance like that.

BCS-460 wiring (ground) question and PID temp display connections

I'll try and find that page again, it was under the documentation link but I'm not at my computer right now. The way I see it ground is ground. I have everything in my panel that has a ground all connected to the same ground post including the BCS. No other voltage will travel thru to the BCS...

    Brewing System Aronyms

So you're saying that you only infuse the mash with water once? But with a RIMS system you take the water out, heat it back up and then do what with it... inject it? insert it? return it? infuse it????? :fro:

BCS-460 wiring (ground) question and PID temp display connections

I'm sure you saw this on the BCS page but I thought I'd add it here as well. Seems to me that you need to run a jumper from the ground on the 12v power supply to one of the ground terminals on the BCS. BCS -PID-Disp ========= GND -GND - Also connect External Power Supply GND (V-) Exp0-SCL...

    Stubborn CamLocks

Thanks guys, didn't even put two and two together to realize the gasket might be an issue. I see a note now on Bobby's page with some tips to try so I'll give those a shot such as keeping them connected for a bit to compress the gaskets some. I'll have to pick up a little keg lube too.

    Stubborn CamLocks

Do camlocks require a bit of a break-in period or do they ever get easier to close with age? I have a few that are a real challenge to close and I have to manipulate the levers on them in such a way to get both of them to close. I may have one that is worse than the others and I may try to...
