    Burner carbon monoxide safety question

Thanks everyone for their comments. I had an HVAC guy take a look at my connections, check out my set up, and do a bubble test. He helped me out with my flame height/color/output as well. ( he was over working on my air-conditioning anyway. ). I bought a cover monoxide monitor as well. Weird—...

    Burner carbon monoxide safety question

I’ve been brewing with a single burner but now I just upgraded to a brew stand with two banjo burners. I use natural gas, not propane. Never really worried about carbon monoxide, but been doing some reading about it and now with the additional burner, just wondering if it would be a problem...

    Temp Control Glycol Chiller

Cool. So you don’t have any problems cold crashing into the 30s? Or running multiple fermenters at once?

    Temp Control Glycol Chiller

Morrey, how do you like your new glycol chiller? I’m thinking of purchasing this one for the same reason. Is it working out well for you? I have a couple conical’s. The penguin is cheaper than the SS brewtech glycol chiller but looks bigger. Any pros and cons so far?

    Black IPA on nitro?

Just wanted some opinions on if anyone has done this and if it worked out well. I’m Making a black IPA soon and thought I put it on my nitro tap. If the taste doesn’t work out I can just put it on CO2 but wanted to give a try. Has anyone done this successfully?

I’m thinking about dry hopping in the keg and just wondering peoples’ techniques and experiences? I know some people leave it in the entire life of the keg?. Just wondering what people do, and if you experience any off flavors, vegetal? And how the flavor is different from normal dry hopping...

    Clear Beer Gadget

I know I’m renewing this thread after half a year, but question? I am super interested in this clear beer contraption, not because I necessarily care about clear beer, but I’m interested in hopping in the keg. For those of you who dry hop in the keg, what do you think the differences between...

1st water chemistry/pH attempt failed. Please help.

For probe calibration, I missspoke. I let the probe soak out of the box in the storage solution for four hours as instructed, then I calibrated to 7.01 followed by 4.01 ( Solutions provided by Milwaukee ) while heating my strike water. Then in between my two mash pH measurements, I tested it...

1st water chemistry/pH attempt failed. Please help.

My first brew adjusting water chemistry utterly failed. Short version: inputted everything into Bru’n Water supporters program using distilled water and building up to a yellow dry profile with an estimated mash pH of 5.41. PH turned out to be 5.73 at 10 minutes and 24 minutes. Any help would...

    Sparge pH question, bru’n Water

Trudging my way through my first Brewing water chemistry course for an IPA brew day this Friday. Hoping someone who is used the program and knows the chemistry can help me out. I’m using 100% distilled water as my base in building from there. The program states that the pH of distilled water...

    Cip ball setup for fermenter

It is a superior brand 1/4 hp sump pump. My chugger pump isn't strong enough to get the pressure /volume high enough for the CIP to work effectively. After I burned out the motor I looked on the sump pump specifications and 120 is the max. Yes I will send back the bucket heater.

    Cip ball setup for fermenter

I bought a Cip ball to clean in place my conical fermenter. Got all the tubes etc. Got a 1/5 hp sump pump as well as a bucket heater to heat the liquid PBW. Things were going great on the test run and I was running hot PBW through the CIP ball/fermenter. Decided to do a 30 minute trial and did...

    Cream Ale Fizzy Yellow Beer

I was just wondering for anyone who's made this recently if you could compare it to any commercial brands that are out there. I'm interested in making it and my wife wanted a nice summer drinker and I think it fits the bill.
