    5 Gallon Coleman Mash/Lauter Tun

DSmith -- Thanks for the schematic -- worked like a charm! Picked the cooler up for $12 at Sports Authority, so I wanted to make it work. Gonna look into the styrofoam suggestion. Looking to use this for partial mashes sometimes, so taking up some of that extra space will be important.

    FYI... DON'T Drink and Brew

Not having a beer forces me to fixate on every single thing that could be going wrong. Easier to have one and let it happily boil away.

    Beer Criticism

It's the same with commercial beers (craft or otherwise.) Some live 'em, some hate 'em. If you're in the first group, forget the latter. We always serve our beer with a nod to the fact that we screwed a couple things up...a recent favorite of mine was our "Could've Been Better Bitter." it was...

    Homebrewtalk Carboy Cleaner Giveaway

I need one because I've been cleaning everything twice -- one out of my keg and then once out of this beautiful Movember moustache.

    Kegging and Travelling

Hahaha -- that seems like a heck of a workaround!!!

    Kegging and Travelling

That sounds ideal. I'm thinking QDs might be a Christmas present to myself. Unfortunately, not in the cards right now, so I plan on purging/filling tomorrow, understanding that the beer will become partially carbonated during the ride, and then letting it sit off the gas at home until I've...

    Kegging and Travelling

I've only kegged beers I brewed at home so far, and soon will be kegging a beer brewed at a friends. I'd like to take it home the same day (~30 minute drive) and I'm a bit worried about the travel. If I fill, purge, and put some CO2 in...can I disconnect for the ride home without putting the...

    Movember

Anyone else growing a stache for Movember? I just stumbled upon it this year...seems like a worthy cause. I lost my dad a little over four years ago to duodenal cancer...there's not many duodenal cancer foundations out there, so I tend to jump on things like this. Shaving my face left me for the...

Meat beer is on the way

The goatiness of a goat would pair nicely with the stoutiness of a stout.
