Here is a vid of what is going on:

Help, my Corny posts are leaking!

OK, I will give those things a shot. I have used a spare QD and gotten the same problem but I will make sure the nut is tight. How do I check the gasket you are talking about at the head of the QD?

Help, my Corny posts are leaking!

Thanks again for the replies guys. Yes I am using keg lube on the o-rings. And I am sure it is not leaking out the hose, it clearly leaks out between the QD and the post when the QD is connected.

Help, my Corny posts are leaking!

ARGH! I'm about at wit's end here. I've tried new o-rings (silicone 111's from Mcmaster), tried different posts with different o-rings, different QD's on both posts, and I still get a trickle of beer down the side of the keg when I hook up the beer QD to the keg. I even used the post I...

Help, my Corny posts are leaking!

The leak comes out between the corny post and the quick disconnect fitting when it is hooked up. The keg holds pressure just fine without the QD hooked up so I know it's not the dip tube o ring or the poppet. It's gotta be the post o-ring.

Help, my Corny posts are leaking!

I didn't know that about the grooves, thanks for that. As far as the o-rings go, it seems like the ones I got from Northern aren't as "beefy" as they should be. What is a good source for replacement o-rings that you guys usually use?

Help, my Corny posts are leaking!

I rebuilt this keg using a rebuild kit from Northern Brewer. When I put the beer in the keg I hit it with 20 psi of CO2 to seal the lid and I'm sure the keg itself is holding pressure. I let it sit (pressurized) for a week and still had pressure after that time. Yesterday I went to hook up my...

    Fermentation chamber build, with pics

Yes it can hold three if the third goes half in the fridge. As far as the R5 board, we shall see. I haven't tested it yet because the door seal is not as "good" as it can be.

One more pic of the completed interior. I could only put 10 photos in the original post

    Fermentation chamber build, with pics

Just buttoning up my fermentation chamber so I can get into brewing lagers. Here's what I needed from it: - It's in a basement that is not finished nor will it be, so aesthetics were really not that important to me. Purely function. - I wanted it to be able to hold 3 fermenting vessels...

A new beer line cooling thread!

I tried this. Built trunk line just like that, had a reservoir of glycol/water mix in the keezer going into an auto transmission cooler on the bottom of the keezer then up into the tower. It didn't work. I couldn't get coolant line with a think enough wall that would keep the beer lines...

    Keezer foam problems

Honestly, I had Sierra Nevada at 14 psi and that temp and got good results. This beer has similar carbonation characteristics. It's Keegan Ales Hurricane Kitty.

    Keezer foam problems

Been playing for a long time now with this keg. It was good when I first got it but not so much now. It's a local microbrewery IPA in a keezer with a tower. I have a tower cooling fan setup. Here are the specs: Temp: 37.5 degrees F on second glass PSI: 14 at sea level line: 8 ft. of...

NB Big Honkin Stout... Expected FG?

I used Wyeast 1332 Northwest Ale yeast and I made a starter to pitch. I wouldn't call the initial fermentation "vigorous" per se but I did have a good layer of foam. I'm planning on leaving it in the secondary until around the end of the month and then rack to keg and throw it in the keezer...

NB Big Honkin Stout... Expected FG?

Anybody have any ideas on what I should expect for a final gravity on a Northern Brewer Big Honkin Stout Kit? This is my second venture into homebrew :ban: I started at 1.068, primary for 10 days, it's been in secondary for almost 2 weeks. After primary I got hydrometer readings of...

Cool, thanks for the replies guys, I didn't even know there was a wiki :ban:

What do all the abbreviations mean?

I'm an extract brewer who can certainly see myself getting into an all-grain gig in the near future. I'm going over the forums here and I'm wondering what all of these abbreviations like RIMS, HERMS, etc. mean. Can somebody give an explanation of the different types of brewing setups? Thanks.

Perlick Forward Seal Faucet vs Standard Chrome faucets

I upgraded to Perlicks and overall I feel they were worth it. Like everybody else said, if you don't draw off a standard faucet every day, they stick. Mine stuck to the point where I really thought I was going to rip my tower right off the bar top. With the Perlicks I feel that they are a...

    Tapped my first keg, problem...

Figured out the problem... I'm a stupid-ass and had the posts on the keg backwards. I don't know how I was able to connect the lines but they were on there. Switched the posts, hooked it all back up and it's good to go. I am now a successful homebrewer :ban:
