Illinois Bar and Grill makes a great burger. It's on Taylor street over by UIC and Little Italy. Of course you do have the Billy Goat as well for a grease fest! We don't have squat here in Jersey for Burger joints.

I really sorry for your loss. My family frequents lots of zoos and the keepers always seem so happy with their chosen path in life. It breaks my heart to read stories like this.

Use a blowoff tube. I am on SWMBOs list right now because my Barley Wine I racked to the yeast cake yesterday exploded while I was out today and she had to clean it up. It started very slowly and then just took off like gangbusters this morning about 16 hours afterwards.

Only a problem if you don't enjoy it. I enjoy a good brew both alone and with company. It's only a problem when you don't enjoy it, but instead need it IMHO.

I'll just add that there's nothing wrong with drinking the yeast either. In fact, it replenishes the Vitamin B that the alcohol depletes in your body. I've found that if I drink the same amount of homebrew as I do commercial brew, I feel better the next morning after drinking the homebrew.

I just threw out my Mr Beer fermenter because it is just crap. My last batch was like blueberry flavored water. I just brewed my last kit and improvised a bit with my own extracts and hops then put it in my 3 Gal Mead fermenter. Mr Beer was a good, cheap learning experience but time to move on!
