    Carb PSI

I don't think I want to mess with my regulator. It was a royal pita getting the splitter on. Thanks anyway.

    Carb PSI

Thanks for the input. I do have a single body regulator. I wasn’t aware you had to continually force the co2 into the beer. Obviously from my above post I thought I could put in 25 – 30 psi turn valve off and wait. Since I’m an inpatient person, i think I’ll turn off...

    Carb PSI

I currently have a 5lb co2 tank split between a keg of Sam Adams and my homebrew Cornelius keg. Last night I racked my homebrew IPA at room temp into the Cornelius keg and the plan was to shut the valve off going to my keg of Sammy, which i did, add 30 psi of co2 to my homebrew, shut the valve...

Anyone Using Priming Sugar and Force Carb

The priming sugar came with the kit so it's not really a money issue other then I paid for it so I might as well use it. It does seem useless since the Co2 will carb the beer but since my LBS recommend it I was curious. I'm just going to ask them why they recommend it the next time I visit...

Anyone Using Priming Sugar and Force Carb

Are you saying no priming sugar or are you saying there is no real advantage to adding it and no real disadvantage if it's not added?

Anyone Using Priming Sugar and Force Carb

I searched the posts here and have found many opinions on this but just wanted to try one more time. I've bought three batches from my LBS and kegged all of them. My LBS said to add the priming sugar to the boil and then after the fermentation period rack to the keg and set CO2 to 10 psi...

To Stir or Not To Stir

Wait 14 days from brew date for dry hopping then how long before racking into my keg?

To Stir or Not To Stir

I am going to rack it into a second fermentation bucket so that sounds like a good idea to rack on top of the hops. Thanks for the tip.

To Stir or Not To Stir

Thanks! That's what i thought but just needed another opinion.

To Stir or Not To Stir

I made a batch of IPA last night. The recipe said to add various amounts of Cascade hops and boil for various times. My question is I never stirred the wort after adding the hops each time because the recipe didn’t state too, was it necessary? It seemed like there was a lot more sludge when i...

No Rinse Cleaner Need to Dry?

Okay that's what i thought. I was going to pass on the second fermentation bucket but thought there would less sediment and sludge at the bottom of the bucket when it come time to put into my keg. I was planning on leaving it another week in the secondary. From what I’ve read it sounds...

No Rinse Cleaner Need to Dry?

My beer has been fermenting for 7 days now and i checked the gravity which read 1.014 recommended FG is 1.012 - 1.015 so i think i'm good to put into second fermentation bucket. Question is after using a no rinse cleaner do i need to wait for it to dry or can put the beer in the bucket with a...

Looking For Recipe Similar to Cold Hop

I tried the Cold Hop from the Boulder Beer Company over the weekend and like it a bunch and thought it would be great to try and make something similar. I have no clue how to start. Cold Hop British-Style Ale is a unique ale with a rich golden hue. Its pleasantly fruity, floral hop aroma and...

Fermentation Room Temperature Only 58 Degrees??

I'm getting a bubble every 4 or 5 seconds. Can i leave it where it is and let it sit longer like maybe 21 days instead of 14 days or would it be better to move it to a room that is closer to 70 degrees?

Fermentation Room Temperature Only 58 Degrees??

I must have had a couple beers when I first read the temp in my basement because I thought it was 68 degrees but when I checked today it was only 58 degrees. I started a brew last Thursday so it’s been at that temp for 4 days. What should I do?

My Second Time Brewing Any Suggestions??

Do you have or know where to get the Cooper's Ale recipe that the gentleman in the hydrometer video was drinking. He looked like he really enjoyed it and made want to try to brew some. Thanks for the advice. I only boiled 2 gallons of water but still had to use a lid to get it to boil and it...

My Second Time Brewing Any Suggestions??

I took a gravity reading before pitching the yeast which was 1.042 but the directions state that it should be 1.050 - 1.054 and the FG of 1.012 - 1.015. Does it matter that mine was lower then what the directins state? If my FG is 1.004 would that be fine since it dropped the same amount or am...

My Second Time Brewing Any Suggestions??

I'm about 10 minutes into the boil after adding the malt extract and tettnang hops. I think i need a gas stove. My 17 year old son hates the way the house smells at the moment. I kinda like it.
