    The Home Made Pizza Thread

Ok guys, I've been following this thread and getting hungry for weeks now... figured I would share my first entry here while I am upgrading my brewery and have nothing better to do :) First post is of a 1 cup Spelt flour / 1.5 cups all purpose, with a mix of 8 oz tomato paste / whole foods...

Help me pick out some equipment!

Oh really? I find that interesting.. but not entirely surprising since RO is stripped of about 90% of the minerals. I flirted with buying an RO system, but figured it would be wiser to purchase water on the cheap than to spend $200-300 for a 10 gallon system. This idea is wholly on the...

Help me pick out some equipment!

Thanks! I got addicted right away and haven't looked back.. until my last few batches, but rather than give up it's time to double-up! I've wondered if it was due to improper cleaning after using oxy-clean to peal labels. I always rinse the bottles after soaking them, but probably did an...

Help me pick out some equipment!

Well, exactly as the title says! I started brewing all-grain (yeah, jumped right into it with a keggle) in March/May of this year and have bottled 61 gallons ytd. Over that time I've made a lot of good beer, and a lot of crappy beer.. I've got a good 10 gal coolman cooler mashtun with FB and...

    Expresso stout suggestions

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you're cold brewing coffee, why couldn't you just add the grinds to the secondary like you would during dry hop? I've thought about doing this same style (as I love Stone Expresso IRS even over KBS), but played around with the idea of: 1) coursely grinding the...

Double IPA Stone Enjoy By IPA

I didn't look too hard at the LHBS, I meant to ask about hop extract, but they were having their Octoberfest (they brew beer, along with several other local breweries), so i forgot to ask amisdt all the festivities. What I forgot to mention above was that I used 35 grams (~1.25 oz) of Columbus...

Double IPA Stone Enjoy By IPA

Yeah, though that was 10/19, I would hope they've since gotten more Simcoe and Centennial, since i thought they were fairly common. Just a hint, if you're on Facebook send Listermann's a message if you're looking for a particular hop; I asked them prior to going down on the 19th if they had...

Double IPA Stone Enjoy By IPA

Brewed this past weekend, 1/2 oz Fuggle and 1/2 oz Cascade to sub for the Delma... the crazy thing is, my LHBS was out of Centennial & Simcoe... luckily I had just enough in my freezer to get all the hops right minus the Delma. Will sample and post back after 12/7 (three weeks bottle conditioned).

    White Rajah Clone

Stone IPA was my first as well, and still one of my favorites. I think All-day come close to taking the top spot, I try not to count IIPA's as they're more of a treat.. though i do love me some head hunter, i've come to the conclusion that Head Hunter should only be drank on draft, and when it...

    White Rajah Clone

Bummer man, glad you could grab a fresh case! I really hope they start putting a bottling date on their bottles, or label, or something... it's not too rare here in cincy, but it isn't exactly common either (except the LQ store by my house always has it... though it's hard to discern whether...

    White Rajah Clone

White Rajah is regularly at the LQ store that i buy my beer at, but often times I don't buy it because there is no bottle date, and i live in a real hill-jack area, so they only move it when I'm buying it... but... he had just received 3 cases, so i couldn't not get it? This will be the first...

    White Rajah Clone

I see your case, and raise you 6 founders Harvest ales :O Onward though, i apologize for disappearing and not following up with my clone attempt. I was a bit disappointed with it once it aged, i think i had some ferm temp issues (as the first week of fermentation was probably the hottest...

    White Rajah Clone

Bottled last night, got 46.5 bottles and will open the half bottle on sunday. Here's the rundown: OG: 1.065 FG: 1.012 ABV: 6.9% Overshot my final gravity by a point, but other than that I'd say it went quite well. Is there such a thing as too much homebrew? 3-1/2 cases and...

    White Rajah Clone

Ok, racked back to secondary (or third, whatever you call it), and here's the results. I am going to save the flavor judgement mostly for after 2 weeks minimum carbonation. White Rajah My Brew Closeup of both. I retract my prior statement that i think it needed more honey...

    White Rajah Clone

Ok, I know it's a rough job, but someone has to do it: I bought a six pack and had a "tasting" last night, will post a side-by-side when I rack to secondary on Saturday. Note that this was as the sun was setting... thought I do beleive the next time I brew it I should use closer to the 0.50...

    White Rajah Clone

From what i recall, White Rajah looks like it was made from all 2-row pale, i'm quite happy with the color, but yeah... the flavor changes a lot from 7-14 days (especially after dry-hop). It is quite good now, and it would be a quite good beer even without dry hopping, but that's just...
