    Bottle Cleaning

I know we are now on page 3, and you received your answer, but here is something I didn't read in the 3 pages and works great for me. I do also use HOT HOT water and oxyclean for soaking, any labels that don't just come off on their own, I peel off. Then to get the glue off the Mr. Clean Magic...

    Dog Cookies thread...

Yes, I did try mine. They were a little dry for my taste, as you are supposed to cook the moisture out of them so they don't grow mold. My little Boston Terrior loves these things!

Plus wheat beers are best "young", if you will and taste best when they are fresh.

    first Lager recipe help

Thanks for helping me understand this. I was thinking you needed 4 liters of actual yeast! I know, idiot... What do you use for your starters this large? I have a one gallon glass "jug" that I'm going to use for some JAOM soon, so I better use it for a yeast starter before the JAOM, since...

    first Lager recipe help

A four liter freaking starter? WOW! I know that a large starter is necessary with lagers, but how do you put A GALLON of starter into 5.5 gallons of beer into a 6.5 gallon carboy? :)

    Most Profitable

Do you even know how to boil that much wort? Cool it? Where are you getting your yeast from? Are you prepared to make yeast starters in the gallons? How do you plan to bottle? Make labels? Where to purchase all these supplies from? And I believe these are the SMALL questions that need...

    Blood Orange Hefeweizen

Well, I don't believe it would be a Hefeweizen then, but instead an "American wheat" beer. :)

Autumn Seasonal Beer Thunderstruck Pumpkin Ale (AG and Extract versions)

Just sampled this from a hydro test tube... It's 3.5 weeks old, i.e. its already spent 2 weeks in the primary and is now 1.5 weeks in the secondary. FG was 1.010, which I guess is close to what it should be with nottingham. I must say, the warm flat sample of this tasted MUCH better than the...

Wow an immersion pump makes a big difference.

So one might consider this overkill??? http://www.harborfreight.com/1585-gph-submersible-fountain-pump-47138.html

Wow an immersion pump makes a big difference.

I'd check Harbor Freight Tools. They seem to have pumps that are half the price and twice the GPH... What size pump (GPH) are you using to do this? Also, did you just get one of those landscaping pond fountain/waterfall pumps?

    Cleaning my counterflow wort chiller

I'm picturing this as an immersion chiller-looking device that sits in a bucket of ice water. The hot wort is then ran through the copper pipe which cools the wort. Am I correct? If so, I never even thought of this!

Spicing my Thunderstruck Pumpkin Ale Question/Opinions (Yuri???)

Last year I made a Mr. Beer recipe when that is all I had to brew with. It was actually a hit with the family, so this year I'm an All-Grain brewer and did Yuri's Thunderstruck Pumpkin ale. It seems that the Mr. Beer recipe was much more spiced than Yuri's. In fact, check this out and keep in...

where do you ferment your lager?

If you go to the above site, they have a live demo of the device you could try. If you're an IT professional, and don't have environmental monitoring devices setup in your data centers, shame on you. This has thresholds in both directions for temp, humidity, light, water, sound levels, etc...

where do you ferment your lager?

I have one of these above my fridge with a remote temperature probe that I monitor my fridge temps. It has an Ethernet port and I setup forwarding on my home router so I can check the fridge and room temps from any web browser and my blackberry. I have an extra one of these devices minus the...
