Doctor say's I no more beer. Drink vodka instead.

I'm still going strong. Yesterday I only had 1300 calorie's :) I'm pumped. The thing is I'm not going to bed hungry and I don't feel like I'm starving my self. If anything I have more energy now. I no longer feel like I need a nap around 4. Any one have any good recommendations for cook books?

Doctor say's I no more beer. Drink vodka instead.

So I mentioned that I have my fitness pal app, and when I got it started it asked for all my info it put me at 1570 calories a day. So that's 2 lbs a week according to my doc and the app.

So far so good. I do about 1200 calories a day then have a beer. So far I have finished under the 1500 calorie a day mark every day. I am using the my fitness pal app it is awesome. I love veggies not as much as I love cheese or peanut butter. So now I just eat a bunch of steamed veggies at 25...

Doctor say's no more beer. Drink vodka instead.

In my doctors defense she is an army doctor. So that may have something to do with it. Also I don't think she was a beer drinker.

Thank you everyone for the input. I apologize I'm more of a lurker on the forum the an active participant. So far so good. I'm on day 3 and I'm drinking a ton of water, eating fresh fruits and veggies during the day. For dinner I sit down with my family and eat a homemade meal. This is...

Doctor say's I no more beer. Drink vodka instead.

Thank you all. I'm going to do this. If I can beat a 2 year old in a battle of wills I have the will power to stick to diet.

Doctor say's no more beer. Drink vodka instead.

Thank You all for the advice and encouragement. I need it. Cutting out the beer was for weight loss not the hypertension. I think she was more used to metric units. I have downloaded a calorie counter and I'm trying drink water when I feel peckish instead of having a snack.

    My Keezer has died

Today my keezer died. The repair man has informed me that one of the cooling tubes has a leak and he can't get at it to fix it. :( So now I have a giant insulated box. I'm thinking I could turn it in to a lagering chamber. Any thoughts as to what else I could use it for?

    planning a homestead, suggestions?

I just came across these and found them fascinating. I don't know how you feel about earth shelters but I thought it was worth a look. You could grow your own barley on your roof.

    planning a homestead, suggestions?

You may also want to try a food forest. You plant it once and harvest each and every year no planting no weeding. I'm also a huge fan of earth shelters and earth bermed houses. Rain water collection for grey water use. I have also heard good things about the rocket mass heater which runs on wood...

    Looking for Viking mead recipes

I agree. I wanted to make a yarrow mead and call it The Berserker. But alas I couldn't find any fresh yarrow in my area.

    Homebrewers in JC/Ft. Riley

There is the little apple brew crew out of Manhattan. They meet the 2nd Monday of every month. You can get contact info at the AHA website. I haven't been to there meetings as Monday's don't work well for me. But I'm here on Fort Riley. If you want to share some homebrew.

    Drinking the samples

I'm doing a skeeter pee and needed to know when it hit 1.050 to add more nutrients and the rest of the lemon juice. So samples had to be taken. Because of that I now feel like a fermenter. Side note it doesn't seem to matter where I go someone from Medford, WI is always there.
