    I love my wife

My wife HATES beer, and even more so, HATES the smell of beer - she would rather I drank an entire bottle of Jack then for me to have one beer on my breath. She drinks VERY little, if ever at all. A few months ago she said to me, "You should get back into brewing when we move to Virginia" I say...

    Sabco Brewmagic

I asked that same question not too long ago... found someone here on Island who actually had one and invited myself over to his place to brew. I was an all grain brewer (coolers) who always wanted this system, but it was cost prohibitive. Upon coming back stateside I will be getting back into...

Make sure you don't skip that diacetyl rest!!!!!

OK, this maybe kinda a newbie question, so please be patient and indulge me here: what if you used the aluminum foil to make a little pouch with the rat turds in it for a first wort deal? Then if you insist on the bleach, well, you can always use that to prime your bottles with... that should...

    Explain That Name

A few from my past: Jeffrey Old Bean Stout - Because when calling my bestist buddy, he would would always say"Jeffrey Old Bean, how are you?" and he really loved my sweet Irish Stout. I can no longer find any of the labels I made up back then, but that one had a rediculas 17th century looking...

    Drank a Bud ughhhh

A little late in joining this thread, but here is my confession: a nice cold Bud (in a glass... for some reason that makes it better) with about 8 shakes of salt in it just seems to hit the spot for me. Old Style too. Cant do Bud light, ANY miller products (maybe its the corn?), Coors, etc...

    Hello from Guam/Virginia

Duly noted! Actually, I AM taking notes and keeping a little house folder - it's so easy to overlook things. The house I'm in now I had built and I forgot to leave space in the kitchen for a dishwasher... could have easily been done, simple oversight on my part. Also noted... thats the second...

    Hello from Guam/Virginia

Outstanding idea on the electrical outlets being 4 or 5 feet up... thats something I had not thought of. One of my requirements in this new house to be built will be extra outlets in EVERY room, including, of course, the garage. I definitely want the garage to be insulated and heated/ac'd, if I...

    Hello from Guam/Virginia

Hello Everyone, I posted about a month-ish ago, but never did do the formal introduction thing. Right now I'm stationed in Guam USA, but will be moving back to the Virginia area (somewhere between Yorktown and Richmond) about the first week of Feb. I have not brewed in over 5 years and have...

What would YOU buy if you were me?

Whoops, looks like there is already a plastic conical thread going... anyway, if there is anyone out there that can compare the two or even three (carboy inverter, plastic and SS conicals) out there - would like to hear all about it!

What would YOU buy if you were me?

It's my pleasure... expecially since I have it VERY easy in the military, in fact, it does not even feel like I am IN the military! Holy cow Nate, that ceartainly looks like a professional commercially bought rig to me! I think you are in the wrong business... you should be making turn-key...

What would YOU buy if you were me?

Shipping would prolly not be a factor, wifey is from nearby, so we would just combine a little family visit time with picking it up. Even if I don't buy the brew-magic, i will still prolly stop there and pick up some cornies - they are a just a couple dollars more then average for their used...

What would YOU buy if you were me?

Hello all, This is my first post - I have been browsing the forum for a small time now... I would like to get opinions, input, or a "dream-list" setup you would put together if you were in my situation. what is my situation? OK, I'll try to keep it brief (but I'm partaking in some nice bitter...
