    240v Electrical Question

Thanks for that.. I was just questioning it myself. So Green is still ground.. drop White, and replace it with Black.

    240v Electrical Question

I have the green ground wire grounded to my keggle.. and then then two others run to the heating element. Right now I have White and Red (making just 120v, I get that much). **Edit** Removing wrong information in case anyone else reads it and take it for truth

    240v Electrical Question

When I had the brewery wired up, they put in 4-wire 240v GFCI circuits and dryer plugs.. but my heating element in my Heat Exchanger / HLT uses 3-wires. I replaced the wall plug yesterday and removed one of the hot legs (so its currently using G, W, & R.. B is just capped off), but what I...

Deep Six Brewery - back in action!

I'll be honest.. after I saw what a few years of moisture did to my previous cooler is why I decided no wood. I think that is where the idea of vinyl came from. Plus I'm not up for actually building a building that looks halfway decent from the outside. :) I can tell you I stressed about...

Deep Six Brewery - back in action!

The shed I've chosen is by http://www.homestylesshed.com/ and seems so much better built than some of the others in the price range. Lowes sells a 4x8 sheet of insulated foam board that is around 2" thick that I'm thinking of using instead of all the hoops I jumped through with my last walk-in...

Ultimate man cave setup for learning, what would you do?

Although my "brewery" is quickly changing, take a look at the threads in my signature.. I have a 10 gallon system and two upright freezers with a dedicated fermenter in each. I also had a walk-in cooler that was destroyed in a recent flood, but am in the process of building another..

Deep Six Brewery - back in action!

I dunno if anyone is still following this thread, but I'm excited about my next step.. as soon as I can get this damn guy wire moved, I'm building a new walk-in cooler. I've decided on a 8'x10' vinyl building for it powered by a 12k BTU A/C. Out of everything I lost in the flood, my walk-in...

Deep Six Brewery - back in action!

I don't know my terms here, but it is just the secondary service pole (?). There wasn't any codes about building near it in the first place.. and that guy wire is just where they put it years ago. I've got the power company coming out to price shortening it with a "sidewalk guy" here in the...

Deep Six Brewery - back in action!

Thanks for this info.. I've finally reached the right person and they should be coming out this week to take a look at shortening it. I'm to a point that I don't care (that much) about cost.. That is the only good spot and it is completely blocked by those guy wires!

Deep Six Brewery - back in action!

No.. just this one. I might just chance it and get a cheap metal building you see out at Home Depot that is around 8x10 to convert into a cooler. It could sit right next to the building and wouldn't be visible from the road. I don't really know how strict the city is as this wouldn't require...

Well, around town, you see metal rods sticking horizontal out of power poles which apparently shortens the angle and distance of the guy-wire. I tried calling Georgia Power but couldn't get through to anyone that could help.. probably don't know how to ask it right..

Deep Six Brewery - back in action!

Howdy.. I thought I'd quicky update the thread with an update. The bar is going great.. we hang out in it more than I ever thought, making it already feel like it has paid for itself. I am starting to plan on a new walk-in cooler that will be build off the far side of the building. And since...

    Corney Kegging Commerical Beer

I still do this regularly. I feel it works best if the beer is cold, the jumper line is short, and the pressure is set to just a few psi. If done right, hardly any co2 will removed from suspension and the keg will immediately be ready to put on tap.

    Road Dog Scottish Porter Clone

More like six years.. Lol. I honestly don't remember but know that I never did try an all grain version.. Maybe someone else can chime in?

    Conical to Keg Illustrated

Probably not much.. But I do like to hear it 'whistle' as it fills and I know it's hit the short gas in dip tub as soon as it stops whistling and starts sputtering beer. I also do this to transfer commercially kegged been into corneys but set it to around 15 psi at the sankey end and around the...

Well if it isn't ol' IFP! Yeah, little did IFP know that Deep Six is literally across the street from his parent's house.. And yes, his father really did come drag his ass home. heh

Deep Six Brewery - back in action!

The Super Bowl party was a blast and, thankfully, smaller than last year. There were probably around 50 people here this year including one HomeBrewTalk'er - IFP. We erected a 16'x9' screen with a projector in the back yard.. had a roaring fire in the firepit.. and I had a bartender in the...

Yeah.. my bad! That's the 90 min IIPA on tap. heh. I don't even think the 120 is legal in GA due to the high alcohol content..

Deep Six Brewery - back in action!

We are having a Super Bowl party here tomorrow evening.. I got all 12 taps flowing with a bartender on hand to allow sampling of most of the beers except for 3 that were bought for general consumption. It was slightly thrown together, but overall, I'm just happy to see them all up and running...
