    PicoBrew Zymatic

Interesting. I supposed I can cool both worts separately and then combine them or keep the first wort hot while the 2nd batch is brewing. Any potential issues with that?

    PicoBrew Zymatic

No need for multiples. I'll just run 2 2.5g batches into a 5g keg.

    PicoBrew Zymatic

I backed the project and will receiving mine in April 2014. The price was off-putting but my wife pushed to get it due to all the time it would save. Looks like they've really done their tinkering and testing and the fact that Chris White was in the video reassured me that they are legit. If I...

    Southern Tier Pumking Clone??

It makes zero sense that they would use extracts in both but only write it on one label. Hence, if they write it on one but not the other, logic dictates that there are no extracts in it. Forget labeling laws and supposed artificial tastes, this is the closest thing anyone here has to proof...

    Southern Tier Pumking Clone??

+1. I think this proves definitively that they do not use any extracts in Pumking. Simple logic.

    Southern Tier Pumking Clone??

Maybe try Pumking first before trying to replicate the graham cracker flavor. I had my first bottle of the season last week and decided I don't particularly care for the graham cracker anymore. I think it makes it taste artificial.

    Southern Tier Pumking Clone??

Thanks for the update. My fermentation is done. OG was 1.069 and FG is 1.018 which is where I wanted it considering I wanted a lower ABV than Pumking. I mashed at 158 because I wanted to leave out the lactose and initial samples have a really nice mouthfeel. I did a side by side with a my...

    Southern Tier Pumking Clone??

My brew day went pretty well. My first brew since moving to S. Florida so I had to unpack and clean all of my equipment. Got NB's Dark Star burner, that thing is awesome! I baked the pumpkin until it was mostly dried on the baking sheet, kind of like fruit leather and then let it reconstitute in...

it's finally time: building a keezer (questions)

Yes. You would need to build a collar though.

    Southern Tier Pumking Clone??

I'm going to be using WLP013 London Ale as LHBS did not have Ringwood in stock. Not using a starter as I cut down on the gravity and am shooting for a 1.077 OG. Laziness is also a factor:). Good luck!

In the Idylis 5 cu ft model?

    Southern Tier Pumking Clone??

I am going to brew this on Sunday. Thinking to leave out all of the artificial extracts and just use spices and a diacetyl producing strain of yeast. I'm in S Florida with no ferm chamber so it just may work out well for me. Have people had success using ringwood? Gotta say, this thread goes...

it's finally time: building a keezer (questions)

You can definitely fit three kegs in there with a collar. 2 on the floor and one on the hump. My pin lock measured 4 inches above the lip on the freezer so I figure that would require at least a 6 inch collar. I don't know the amount of clearance I would need from the top of the keg to the lid...

it's finally time: building a keezer (questions)

Did you go ahead with this build? I'm currently looking at the 5cu ft Idylis model from Lowe's and am wondering if you have any feedback about the brand/build? Thanks!
