What gas to use MIG welding my brew rig

Not to redirect you... but both miller and hobart have very good forums on their sites. I have found alot of answers there regardless of what welder is being used. Check it out. http://www.hobartwelders.com/weldtalk/ http://www.millerwelds.com/resources/communities/mboard/

Want to use a Wort Chiller, but can't figure out how.

Do you have a washing machine? I brew in the basement so it's a close water and drain connection. May not work for you, thought I'd bring it up just in case.

    cleaning carboy

I have found oxyclean to work really well, I can't remember the last time I have to use a brush. I usually rinse all the loose stuff out of the carboy then fill with about half a scoop of oxyclean and water to full. I then just leave the carboy that way until I need to put it back in service. I...

    First all-grain

Best part of all grain is not dealing with sticky extract. When a stuck sparge occurs I ussually evaluate the amount of water in the mashtun. If it is below the grain bed I add. I then just stir the mash and ........ do that thing where you pour off the runnings into a container then add...

    The Cult of Effortlessness

I personally have never had good luck with kits and prefer to obtain ingrediants per recipe I'm following. It makes you in charge of what you want, there for elimating odd directions. Proper cleaning and sanitizing habits are easy to get into and just take a few brew days. Everyone has to find...

    Damn Austin Homebrew Supply!!

Don't feel bad. I threw a copy of BYOs 250 clone recipes in on my last order to knock it over 100.00. Funny how that works....

What is going on?! Is this contaminated?

Just continue as ussual. Their isn't anything you can do if it is infected. I've had plently of beers start out questionable and end flavorful. I'm drinking one right now...

When to switch to all grain

I wouldn't jump for another pot to be an HLT. Use your existing pot for the HLT and upgrade to a larger brew pot. Pick a cooler size and convert it. Done.

    Priming the Innkeeper

That sounds insanely low, I don't think I have had a 5 gallon batch that required less then 3 oz of corn suger. Perhaps typo?

    Brew Pot Dipstick

I have seen a few posts about methods to measure the amount of wort in the brew Pot and thought I would post my method. Home Depot sells 3 foot strips of aluminum. I filled my 25 gal megapot with 5 gallons. I then made a mark at the level using cutting pliers. Added 2 more gallons, made...

    20 Gallons Bottled

If I had more bottles I could have kept going. 10 Gallons of Biermunchier's "Ode to Arther Guiness" in fermenters that could have been bottled. Started at 11:00am, was done at 2:30.

    20 Gallons Bottled

No brewing today, just bottling. I've been using a combination of secondaries and extended primaries to bottle all at once. Here is todays hard work.

What's the next piece of equipment that you wanna buy?

Kegging system, Just got the chest freezer last week, temp controller is in the mail. Told myself it would just be a fermentation chamber but having taps to show off and less bottles to clean makes it tough.

    First brew ideas?

My first batch was the new castle kit from clone brewers. Of course I fermented it to hot but there were a few bottles that came out good.
