Road trip advice request for those out west

Stopped in Amarillo my first night on my move to MD, went to the Bix Texan for a steak - if that's where you're planning, great steak, but the beer was a little thin. Loved stopping at the Flying Saucer in memphis the next day - just googled, and there's one in Nashville - probably a great...

    Homebrewing and Bodybuilding/Fitness

Agreed - and usually, the half marathon events, either solo or in conjunction with a full, still give a good experience and sense of accomplishment. Despite falling off on the training due to a two week work trip working nights, still ran a sub-2H at the Annapolis Half in early Nov - nice...

    Homebrewing and Bodybuilding/Fitness

Runner/brewer here too. Pretty moderate - if it's a weekday, 1-2 drinks max, weekend maybe 3 (wife and I love a good homemade cocktail Sunday afternoons). On the running side, ideally 3 days a week. I like going for a longish 8-14 miles on Fri or Sat, and the weekday runs are 3-4 miles -...

    Mexican Restaurants

Only went there once, but loved Mosaic Cafe on Grant/Silverbell. Lacking good mexican food in MD now (left Tucson about two years ago). Miss the quick burrito places, and the taco truck on Grant and around 8th - great cabeza!

Name That Skyline - Picture Game

Tempe Town Lake, looking in the direction of Arizona State University, my Alma Mater? (if I'm right, it was the bridge that clued me in)

You know you're a home brewer when?

Likewise... 1) mentioning all-grain showed I took the hobby seriously (well, more serious than the section supervisor and program manager interviewing me at the time - both homebrewers themselves) 2) Didn't hurt that I mentioned brewing a passable Sweet Baby Jesus clone (local to my...

    Lobster Roll Beer Pairing

Takes about 2 minutes to eat one outside of Green Flash Brewery after a sub-2 half marathon...so friggin good.

    Video Games

Just started Civ 6 this weekend - first impressions are good. Splitting civics off into another "tree" (like research), and expanding religion, game seems more expansive - much more than #4, last one I played. Haven't even looked at multiplayer though.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

    Dobblebock today, Bohemian Pilsener tomorrow.

    Who's smoking meat this weekend?

For baby backs, I've done 2-2-1 a couple times on a BGE - works very well - so well, I might go to 2-1.5-1 - want just a bit less fall-off-the-bone.

    Catholic patron saints of beer

Can there be any explanation for the wonder of Trappist beers other than Divine Intervention??? :mug:

    Catholic patron saints of beer

Well, you'll like this - out of the Rituale Romanum (before the chapter for the Rite of Exorcism...) http://www.catholicgentleman.net/2013/10/the-official-catholic-beer-blessing/ And (see #5)...

    Video Games

Yeah, I understand that - I HATE starting a story midway through, so trying to play through all three. I read that #2 isn't to be missed, and looks like the graphics really jumped there, more so than from #2 to #3. Looks like Mass Effect 1 compared to #2 and #3. Notice with Witcher 1 also, in...

    Favorite Board Games

Got 7 Wonders for a Father's Day gift this weekend - played twice - my boys (almost 10 and 8) both enjoyed it. Fits the bill - we like Catan, but I wanted to get something to play in smaller time windows.

New baby delivery- balancing privacy & hurt feelings

Going back to my first born... #1) Was more MY mom that wanted to be in the room ASAP - was sitting in the waiting room almost throughout labor with two of her friends. Popped her head in the room to "say hi" - don't remember how bluntly I said "this wasn't the best time...". Let her in...

    Fishing!

Nice! Not far from you - live in Eldersburg (just off Liberty Rd and 32), want to get more into fishing (and get the kiddos into it), so looking to find a good shore spot on Liberty Reservoir, go after some bass.
