Hmm, I had my STC freeze my keezer solid, I attributed it to putting a warm keg semi-close to the water bottle with the temp sensor. That was a PITA, now you got me worried about it happening again.

Ended up taking it apart and it wasn't as bad as I thought it could be but still not something I want touching the beer. Some spots of black coating that looked like baked wort though no nefarious odors. Will clean more often now.

Thanks for the reminder, I was going to do it before the last brew but was in a time crunch. I just counted up 30 brews since I got the kettle and haven't taken apart the valve once... Can't wait to see whats going on in there :eek: The beer is still tasting good though!

+1 I got a 150 ml syringe and tubing and think it works pretty good. Don't need to worry about cleaning out spiggots.

I'd say split it, you can get higher flow rates and faster chilling time at the expense of more water used. Put them in series to save cooling water. My first chiller was 50' 3/8" tube. I bought 50' of 1/2" tubing and made it into 3 parallel coils, like the Jaded Hydra. It cools way faster...
