Anyone have experience with Railroad Ties?

Creosote is only a issue if the ties are used to border a veggie garden or like wise. Since this is for a drive it won't matter.

Sry how many does that leave? Just want to make sure it's gonna be worth the drive (90miles) ya know. If its just a few cases then ill have to pass.

    Man, I love Apfelwein

If you pitched the whole thing it's prob done, just take readings starting tomorrow for a couple of days. If its where you want it then rack it to a secondary to clarify. Good luck,

Anyone have experience with Railroad Ties?

Haha, I can say I've been there done that lmao, that's a hammer drill, very strong. To cut them ties just get a good 12" wood/bimetal sawzall blade and have at it used them before to cut ties and works great. But make sure to tie everything together and have a deadman in place at least every 8'...

Probably just slowed down, how much yeast did you pitch? I usually pitch about 2.5-3g myself and get up to 8-10days activity. If you believe it's done(which it probably isn't) take hydro readings 2-3 days in a row and if the readings are all the same it's done. Now if fg isn't reached you can...

    Caramel Apple Hard Cider

I did the same process with the filters and it left no noticeable cinnamon flavor. What I did was dry hop with several sticks and it turned out good. If you can't find a good extract try making your own. And watch the carbing, it's gonna sneak up on you quick and you'll need to pasteurize...

I have been looking for a great blackberry recipe and I love the look of this one. Couple of questions... What temp did you cook the honey at? What was the total time in primary an secondary? What was your fg? Ty.

Oh yeah I understand, but for most of us we can't get the sap so a syrup has to be used instead. Which is just the sap with the h2o removed. And you could replace a large portion Of the honey with the birch syrup.

That looks good, kinda surprised with the chocolate malt though. Would've never thought to use it with an apple beer.

Took me almost 4 weeks to carb my last batch of Carmel cider. The higher the abv and the longer it sits in the primary it's gonna take longer if at all. Next time don't ferment it dry and then bottle and prime, it'll take about 3-4 days that way so be sure to keep a eye on it so you don't over carb.

Just saves you from having to convert it. You'd have to boil the sap down to remove the water they just do it for you.
