If (when?) you eventually switch to AG, you can start heating your first runnings while sparging, it speeds the process up. I put the lid on partially while it's coming up to a boil, then I remove it once it's boiling.

I saw a roundtrip ticket to Omaha on Southwest leaving on Friday the 3rd and coming back on a Sunday (I think) for $310ish including taxes ... you'd still have a 500 mile drive, though ... 7 hours according to Google, which sounds close to what you originally said. I love the freedom of driving...

Save the money and use it on a vacation or build up the nest egg ... anything other than buying another TV. I mean, you already have 6, including one in the basement. Plus it's a 32 incher, which isn't anything to sneer at.

I agree, I don't bottle in 10 days either. But you can't make a blanket statement that no beer can be bottled in 10 days without knowing what the person is brewing. What if they bought a mild kit? :)
