    The best dry yeast

    ive used nottinghams but pretty much use "coopers brewers yeast" i think its a bit different than what comes in the cans, cause 1 its always fresh and it comes in 15 gm packs instead of the usual 7, i always get a hearty fermentation. I would like to try some liquid yeast some day...

    first wine great

    ive made lots of beer but this was my first wine , a VDV kit "chileen cabernet merlot" very good even after 35 days before bottling. just bottled tonight we are planning on giveing bottles away for xmas along with a couple holiday themed beers. My wife is also happy the wine turned out!

    raspberry ale

    ya i did pretty much the same thing with a coopers wheat beer kit, added 3 lbs of rasberry/blackberry mix, pretty well no hop bitterness, a bit tangy from the fruit but good, I made it for my wife and she likes it lots so thats whats important.

    blow off tube not enough

    lol thats awsome, 30 ltr primary pail with lid... the lid was pushed way up like a big bubble. things have slowed down now and the blow off is burping along like normal

    rye malt in porter recipe

    I am thinking of useing some rye malt in a porter recipe, like 1/2 lb or somthing, any thoughts on using rye malt for porter? I think i would dig it but id like some feedback for ammounts ect. I generaly like robust porter styles.

    bbq sauce bottles EZ CAP

    just bought a bottle of Presedents choice bbq sauce 1 litre bottle, with a swing top. Out of curiosity I turned it upside down and sure enough EZ Cap on the bottom, sweet! I know what brand of bbq sauce I will be buying from now on.

    SNPA clone?

    ive made this recipe before but minus the nugget and used 1.5 pearl 60 mins 1 0z cascade 15 mins 1 oz 5 1 oz dry hop, I am drinking it now after 4 days in bottles and its primed and delicous, I imagine the hops will chill out a bit after a couple weeks in bottles but Its very tasty nontheless...

    Would I like an oatmeal stout?

    I dont particularily like guinness however I do like oatmeal stout and other stouts, ie samuel smith imperial stout etc. Mclausen (spelling) oatmeal stout. I think once you start homebrewing and trying different stuff there isnt a style you will dislike, thats me anyways... each style offers...

    brewed sierra nevada off byo and liquid yeast question

    just bottled the sierra nevada clone off of byo but instead of carapils malt i added some wheat because I couldnt get my hands on any at the time, man the stuff is delicious, I drank about three glasses while bottling and it wasnt even primed or cold hehe, a good sign I guess. never fails though...

    using two different yeasts

    Has anyone used two different styles of yeast at the same time for one brew? do they act together, or compete? any thoughts on this would be great as I am trying to decide on german wheat or canadian/american style... possibly using both styles of yeast.
