New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

It's definitely an interesting discussion. but in the interest of homebrwing, i suspect we do what we believe works bestfor our own systems, but it would be an interesting experiment for someone to try out. In other news, i got hold of some Dry voxx kveik from lallemand, so did the below...

    Sierra Nevada Pale Ale Recipe

I kegged this yesterday. an exact replica, based on the information SN provided. this was a beer I drank alot of while after longwalks in the Yosemite's when I was in the Us for 5-6weeks. We'll see what it comes out like, but it looks like a solid enough recipe. Happy to post up my results.

I'm not one to do things by Halves. Really enjoyed building this one. custom made drip tray from a local metal company, vinyl decals for the wording and 8 layers of supergloss varnish (much to my wifes disgust), overlaid on the top. total of 6 taps, still needs tap the 3D printed tap handles...

The Avengers Themed Coffin Top Keezer

Long time no post. With the government announced lockdown and all the items available to complete my project, I finally got there. I have only minimal DIY skills, but think I did a good job of it. This has now replaced my TARDIS Kegerator, and 5/6 taps are functional, whilst i await new tubing...

The Avengers Themed Coffin Top Keezer

Managed some good progress over the holiday break. Starting with the scoop out of the lid to flatten it off. I glued a sized piece of plywood to it and weighted it down. While it dried I built the keezer top. And trimmed it out. From there I built the coffin top and insulated it (dimensions...

The Avengers Themed Coffin Top Keezer

Starting to look like a real thing now. Trim completed on the base unit and sorting the lid for a plywood piece and then the ply top to go on. The insulation lip has to be removed to give a good seal based on the design I went with. Posters have been ordered and enroute. Next step is the...

The Avengers Themed Coffin Top Keezer

The front trimmed out. I had to cut holes for the drain and the main freezer controller as well Had 44mm and 82mm hole saws which I borrowed and worked pretty well I think. The big holesaws tend to rip the timber to shreds which is a shame but I can work with that. The left side to go. Then...

Sweet Stout Left Hand Milk Stout Clone

I Hit 1.024 with this recipe generally, However I do drop the amount of Lactose down slight (Metric 400g instead of 450g). also try using something better than US-05. Sadly while this yeast has been a good pioneers of neutral strains, there are now better options available in both dry and liquid...

Can you Brew It recipe for Stone Arrogant Bastard

given the water here is really plain, not alot of treatment is actually required. 3:1 is what I do on most beers like this. we have no chlorine, and no other treatments, so filtering isn't required. i add 1/2 tsp of lactic acid to the aprge water normally.

Can you Brew It recipe for Stone Arrogant Bastard

You'll all be pleased to know this picked up a bronze at the NHC here in NZ. Comments to the contrary of good beer were some minor oxidation and needs fresher hops. It's a winner. slightly modified from the final recipe from redskinnfan, but much the same overall.

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I'm sure you're right, however, I don't think I'm over thinking it at all. Conan and "coastal haze" may have a british background, but they're still mostly considered in the mainstream as american yeasts. What a great Test match................................................. Shame about the...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Sounds really good. This is actually a new style as well. Because I’m not in the US we get a few different interpretations of this style. - There’s the NEIPA which by rights should use Conan or similar (a USA derived yeast strain). - hazy IPA which falls under the more London ale, London fog...

The Avengers Themed Coffin Top Keezer

Managed to sort a couple of small revisions to the keezer. And because it looked so good I even toyed with the idea of turning it into a standard keezer. Save me building a coffin box. But my thoughts prevailed. For now. Anyways. I managed to get a good run at this over the weekend and instead...

question for anyone out there who epoxied their tops. I am in the early stages of my build, and I'm keen to epoxy if I can. However, I want to inset my drip tray, and make it removable for cleaning etc. essentially leaving a rectangiler hole where it would be once removed. Isthere a way I can...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I'm finally embarking on my first liquid yeast hazy. (we call them Hazy IPA's here in NZ, as we not in the northeast/new england). Flameout Centennial,El-Dorado, Chinook, with a little bit of Nelson & Hort4337. 50g of each at flameout plus 5g of nelson & hort. Dryhopped with Citra, Mosaic...

Anyone got tip on the best way to handle the lallemand dry yeast for this style? I’ve heard banana esters can be an issue.

The Avengers Themed Coffin Top Keezer

Lid removed to build a collar. Collar built. I wanted to build a collar so I could penetrate the interior as I keep my co2 bottle outside the unit. The idea being to have the motor dump hold some of my special beer I buy to keep them cool etc. the freezer I have also has small wheels...
