New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

When it comes to cryo for me - my go to for these beers (this include West Coast IPA's). is 150g of cryo in the dryhop. which in the end equates to 300g if it was pellets approx. love cryo cascade, it is significantly different to pellets, its so much brighter and fresher.

Motueka pairing in a pale ale other than cascade

motueka, mandarina & mosaic has worked for me. or pair with any other nz hop basically. its hugely versatile.

has anyone tried Sorachi ace late in the boil? I have a little under 1oz and was keen to put it in at around 5-10min prior to the end for some additional complexity. Thoughts? I know its a hop that either you love or hate.

    Best NEIPA hop combos

Tell you what, I'm just starting to really experiment with hop combo's in this style. My go to has always been Nelson galaxy, mosaic and citra (simcoe in the whirlpool if i want something different). But there are a couple of breweries here in NZ that are doing absolutely banging Hazies. Some...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

the question i have is, what is the effect on off-flavours for yeasts like kveik, i haven't heard any problems, but given its a living organism, if you stress it out enough, surely something will happen?
  11. crusader1612

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Yes, from my limited understanding of Kveik yeasts, under pitching will increase ester formation (in voss this is citrus generally). I am not sure around off-flavours etc. though, which is always my main concern. For liquid yeasts, i've been told t hat Opshaug has enough for 2-3 pitches in a...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

If you can get it, use it, its probably the best new hop I've had in awhile, and that includes hops like sabro etc. which are immensely popular. I don't know a huge amount about Southern Cross to be hones,t but it is severely uner utilised IMO. Piney resiny and tropical. ' Brewmoon are local to...

New England IPA New England Style TIPA

Sounds like an awesome recipe. I have such easy access, so i might have to give it a crack.

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I might just do that, it makes sense to use this as its slightly cheaper and utilise it more, dryhop with those bangers everyone talks about. maybe a side to side - sx gets used alot here when hops like simcoe aren't available, as a so called NZ sub (not the same obviously). but it definitely...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Yeah, I read that, but when he mentioned that halfway version where bio trans was done with the banger hops i figured it was worth a try. we hyave Southern Cross, Moutere & Rakau, which tend to be on the cheaper end of the scale, and with enough oils, that they suggest it can be used later in...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Tried it a few times, and got aceteldehyde, in one, then just unsettling off flavours, i couldn't pick out at the time, i realise this is potentially my issue, so im trying to get some idea of how people treat it differently in relation to temps and time and so on.

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

How do we get it to behave? Whats the processes for keeping this yeast under control. Th times i've used it, i've had issues basically. pretty much everytime, so i fel like im doing something wrong, cos others have had success.

what are peoples thoughts on this? Citra-Galaxy NEIPA: Bioconversion | The Mad Fermentationist - Homebrewing Blog I have a friend who brews hazies pretty much religiously, but always uses expensive hops. He literally does a 200g addition spread out over the hopstand time to get a layering of...
