    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

You could I guess...if you're sure you got the zip lock bags sanitized...then again I wouldn't but that's me.

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I was reading through your website and facebook page about brewing a beer everyday for a year....quite a challenge. I assume you want a quick and easy way to cool your beer....it doesn't get any easier than an ice bath in the sink. Easy set-up and almost no clean up. Here's a thought....have...

Your amounts look a little low on the grain side of things and a little high on the hops so.... Using a smartphone app the amounts should be more like... 41.75 ounces of 2-Row 14 ounces of Flaked Corn 3.5 ounces of Minute Rice 1.5 grams of Williamete 1.5 grams of Crystal Hope that...

I'm sure you'll be fine.....I'm a Keep It Simple Stupid brewer though. I don't like to open and close containers to add or remove things or at least keep it to a minimum like dry hopping a couple of days before bottling.....In my mind it opens the possibility of infection or contamination...

bleme.....I was thinking the same thing but having not done this myself I couldn't put any personal experience behind it. I think the amount of sugar left shouldn't effect his carbonation too much...it may take a longer to get the level intended.

I actually went the other way....I bought a kegging system and was going to build a fridge to hold it all. Then I decided I wanted to brew 2.5 gallon batches...of course that was 15 years ago and I didn't know that 2.5 gallon kegs existed so I sold it to someone who was starting out. Now at...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I used my "Ugly Junk" mill to grind up 2.5# of grain for a brew yesterday. It works really well for BIAB and small batches...It only took me about 10-15 minutes to crush up the grain. Another place to look for them is Wal-Mart.com plus free delivery to the store. Sent from my SCH-R530U using...

Personally I don't....I use a whisk and stir it until it has a nice frothy head on it then add dry yeast. I like to brew under the KISS principle.

    Small batch (1 gallon) BIAB

I made a bottling bucket out of a 2 gallon paint bucket. Just make sure you run your drill bit backwards so it doesn't chew up the plastic...

10 Things I Love About 1 Gallon Brewing

I'm very content brewing 1 gallon batches. I started brewing 5 gallons then dropped to 2.5 gallons...now I brew 1 to 1.5 gallons batches and very happy that I switched.

What helped me was to brew slightly larger batches of wort...like 1 1/2 gallons. So when it was time to pour into my fermenter, I would get a whole 1 gallon and leave most of the hops and trub in the kettle. Lately, I've been using 2 gallon buckets and pouring everything into the bucket...all...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I noticed an excessive boil off when I switched to 1 gallon so I turned down the heat so I got nice moving boil and not the violent boil most brewers suggest....I know what your thinking but when I did 5gallons on my stove top I couldn't get a strong boil back then either and my beer tasted fine...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I brewed this 5 gallon recipe from 'Brew Your Own' as 2.5 gallons so I just halved all the ingredients. I didn't follow the same mash schedule....I just did a single step BIAB mash at 154 for 60 minutes....its was good enough that it was the first beer I finish of all my beers last Fall. And...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

The huge difference with doing all grain beer at 1 gallon vs. 5 gallons is the temperature drop during mashing. A 1 gallon mash just doesn't have the mass to hold the heat so I put my oven on its lowest setting (170) and place the mash pot inside. Some people turn off the oven right away, others...

A 1-Gallon forum was asked for by huntingohio almost a year ago... https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f22/we-need-small-batch-brewers-section-365395/ In my experience, the linear relationship of 5-gallon recipe to 1-gallon recipe is very close and is a good starting point for brewing. The biggest...
