    I friggin' love keggin!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry total newb comment, but I finally get it. I tested with a Root Beer for the kids, better to blow a $10 soda than a $40 beer. But everything went exactly as planned. I will qualify that by saying I read a lot before jumping into something new. The sticky's, particularly Bobby M's...

Looking for and outdoor brewing setup

thought of duct tape as I had seen that elsewhere, this is permenant, simple, and full(fool)proof so at least ask for the PM and make your own decision. Seriously a wire nut or soldering iron and you are done. I have both but the nut is just easier.

    Spacers(?) under poppets

good news is the other 2 corny's didn't pose an confusion.

    Spacers(?) under poppets

You nailed it halfpint, so can I replace with longer poppets or do I have to find these somewhere. If so, where??????? PJ, thanks for the help man, I searched and see no indication of the maker on the corney, including the bottom. Seriously appreciate the effort, but Halfpint seems well on...

    Spacers(?) under poppets

Just to be sure I am clear, they are not the poppets. They sit in between the poppet and the top of the dip tubes on both sides. I seems a logical fix for short or worn poppets, but I want them out of the flow given their condition and not seeing any type of replacement on NB or Midwest.

    Spacers(?) under poppets

I picked up 3 used corny's this weekend and one had plastic, spacers (I am guessing) in th eposts under the popits. I am new to kegging and every diagram of a torn apart corny I can find lacks these. Any help in identifying, replacing as they are soda stained, or make seller replace is...

Looking for and outdoor brewing setup

Here's the modified in action. Notice the hole where the timer used to be. Tried 4 times from a public server and no luck, sorry. I give up, but it works and super easy!

Looking for and outdoor brewing setup

One other change I made. I took scrap flashing and snipped a disk the same size as the one mounted under the burner, drill a couple hole and mount it under the grid supporting the pot. Evens the heat dispersion, good-ole turkey fryin' MO boy mod. (Definately helps if you are trying to cook a...

Very true, and the single wire nut required was on hand so I don't even count that as an expense.

    Centennial Farm's Cyser

this shtuff is vibrant orange, looks like peach nectar with the yeast suspended. No doubt the nottingham has at least temporarily won any battle going on inside the wort.

Looking for and outdoor brewing setup

Just finished the bypass (actually, removal of the timer completely) and tested, thanks again river! For the aeration, the benefit comes from using the spigot to transfer to the primary vs. pouring for my other pots. It is a good sized spout, not too slow but enough to break the stream as it...

Looking for and outdoor brewing setup

Easy, clear and detialed instructions. River and his brew partner rock! In the end it is just a very simple bypass. Don't let the new timer style fryers make you pass up a great deal! And Bass Pro is running some great ones right now. They have an AL 30 qt. pot with burner for $39.94, and...

Looking for and outdoor brewing setup

I bought the one linked and brewed a cream ale with it last night. Looking forward to the bypass instructions from river as managing timer was a PITA, but great buy otherwise. My wort has never been that well aerated.

New to Cider... Looking for some advice.

    1) How will I know when fermentation is complete? Taste it/take a hydr reading. If you want a semi-dry or sweet you have to do this or it will go down to very dry. I taste and stop the process when it hits my target. 2) I have... Pectic Enzyme - I am pretty sure you are too late on this...

Gratus, noted for next time, thx. It was a slow start but got going last evening.

    Centennial Farm's Cyser

Augusta, MO's Centennial Farms 2010 Cyser. 3 gallons fresh pressed unpasturized + 3 pounds of their honey + Nottingham. I just pitched rehydrated yeast. I figured if it started turning south I use campden and repitch. If I can skip the sulfur I surely will.

Looking for and outdoor brewing setup

rmedved, did the CSA ever kick in and turn off the gas like Revvy was advising about? Different style than the timer, so wondering if it reacted during the boil? Is the pot stainless or alluminum? I didn't see it specified. I know everyone says it doesn't matter, I just prefer stainless for...

Looking for and outdoor brewing setup

I cam across the following in my search and wanted thoughts on it's use for the boil. 58000 BTU's, 7.5 gallon pot (w/ a bottom spigot!!!) http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-Stainless-Steel-Turkey-Fryer-with-Spigot/product/10211714/-1631023
