    Hi from Washington State

Welcome! I'm out in Issaquah with more beer on hand than I know what to do. Stop by if you ever want a growler for the road...

    Fastenal?

likewise - a few days is what I experienced for a few stainless steel washers. Also - make sure they don't charge you for shipping if you're getting it shipped to the store for pickup. They charged me, but when I brought it to their attention, they were super helpful and apologetic. I'd order...

    Another weird Beersmith quirk

Hop Utilization will increase slightly as your boil size increases. Mainly because the gravity of the wort decreases. More below. How to Brew - By John Palmer - Hop Bittering Calculations

Ranco is at 30 beer is at 42 and still foaming.

32 is pretty cold... Most folks would say to serve around 45 degrees. If you're foaming like crazy at 32, you've got a few things to consider. What PSI are you serving at? How long are your lines? What's the ID? I'd recommend getting longer lines, or smaller diameter lines. I use...

PLEASE HELP! Frustrated beginner....Odd smell, not rotten but fruity, banana? esther

+1 My first several batches all smelled like get on da boat, da banana boat. Once I started controlling my fermentation temps (search for "son of fermentation chiller") this smell stopped completely. How long are you letting your fermentations go? Also, Revvy has some good advice here.

    woops. hops too early

A quick calculation in Beer Smith says you'll most likely only end up with an extra 2 IBUs in 180 minutes vs 90. Not a big deal in my book. Enjoy your Super Bowl Brew!

    Beer labels.

Haven't read below this post... just had to saw that M&J is one of my favs! They're local to Redmond, WA (Microsoft's home...). I don't think their distribution extends past the NW. If you're ever in the Seattle metro area, ask if they have Mac & Jacks on tap. You won't regret it.

Post boil gravity doesn't match post boil gravity

Kai - Just a thought, but perhaps your wort wasn't properly mixed during one of the samplings?

    Moisture in Kegerator

I'm having moisture issues... Let me back up... I popped open my keezer the other day and found puddles from condensation all over the place. Mold had started to sprout in little colonies on the tops of the cornies and I noticed it in all the cracks of the keezer as well. Sweet... Just...

Still new to all grain and need help with everything

+1 I bought a fancy new digital thermometer on Ebay for ~$12 shipped and it brought my avg efficiency from 65% to 72%. I later checked my first thermometer in boiling and freezing water. It registered close to 205 and 27, respectively.

    Corny keg purchasing question...CHI company

+1 on the 4-pack. I ordered two when I first started kegging. I immediately bought 2 more once I filled those with beer to condition. I just bought 8 more from CHI and am thinking about more... Also, I've found that ordering in 4s tends to keep the shipping$/keg to a minimum.

    New Brewer Jitters- Sharing beer.

I am totally with you on the new brewer jitters... I have been brewing for a year now and only recently started sharing with other people. I've found that most people are willing to try - once they do they're hooked! Plus, if they don't... more beer for you!

    Adjusting Hydrometer readings for temp.

+1! I just bought my refractometer and LOVE my new toy. Sometimes I'll take readings during the boil just because I can.

Beersmith: Fermenting Wort Grav vs Finished Beer ABV

Warped - Thanks for your quick response. I don't understand what you mean by Final Gravity Estimate... I have estimated my FG to be ~1.012. In Beersmith's Refractometer Tool menu, should I select "Fermenting Wort Gravity" and "Finished Beer ABV/OG" to determine what my SG is right now?

Where are the mods, we have a f&*#in Spammer!!!!

Not a tech guy in the least, but I'm guessing Revvy clicked the New Posts link to see all these. I'm thinking TX added a note to each forum advertising HBT and it's showing up multiple times in your view because it's the newest post in each of the forums. Wow... please don't read what I...
