    Westvleteren XII Price?

Thanks for the responses. To be honest, I haven't tried St. Bernardus 12 or even Chimay blue. So for now, I think I will go find some of those (both available locally) before I go straight to the super rare quads. And when I'm ready to find and drink some Westvleteren, It's good to know there...

    Westvleteren XII Price?

I saw a local Craigslist ad for 3 bottles of Westvleteren that was purchased at the brewery. He/she is asking $40 per bottle. I would love to try this, but $40 buys a lot of Rochefort 10. To me, this sounds way overpriced, but I don't really have a point of reference. I get that it's a...

Guinness proper pour- Does it actualy matter?

One of the most memorable beer experiences of my life was drinking a pint of Guinness at the top of the brewery looking over Dublin. I'd like to think that a proper Guinness pour played a part in my experience.

Best place in the twin cities...

I'll add another vote for the Four Firkins in St. Louis Park. And as long as you're there, about a mile away is Steel Toe Brewery. They have a taproom with some great beers. Check their hours first though, to make sure they're open.

    No Homebrew....Who is you supplier?

I'm pretty pumped to hear this. I just learned that there is a total wine and more opening up a few miles from me. This will be their first store in MN and it should be open by the end of the year.

    No Homebrew....Who is you supplier?

The Four Firkins in St. Louis Park, MN. They have an amazing selection of beers and their staff is top notch. I've gone in there looking for a style of beer without really knowing what the good options were, and they helped me put together a nice looking six pack. They also have regular beer...

Better to buy supplies online or in person?

I usually buy local. As previously stated, I want to support my local businesses. I'm probably paying a little more, but I'm not exactly scraping by. I think of it as making an investment. If I decide to brew in a whim, or I need something quick, like an airlock or sanitizer, I can just stop...

Have you ever gotten a DUI from your own beer?

I bought a fuel cell breathalyzer a while ago. I paid about $150 for it, but that's certainly cheaper than a DUI. I usually don't drive if I've been drinking, but on the rare occasion that I do, it's nice to at least have a reference point. The accuracy of consumer grade breathalyzers can be...

What I did for beer today

I went off the grid and purchased ingredients for my first "non-store bought kit" AG brew. It will be a small batch Belgian Tripel, to be brewed this weekend. Wish me luck. Oh, I also bought a bench corker/capper. Thank you Craigslist.
