BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

Another newb Q. You guys see any problems using 23AWG Cat 6 wire for the 12v side of things? Biggest load is the motorized ball valves at about 2 watts.

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

Gracias amigo. What you say makes sense. What would I do if I wanted to display position info? Model info at the link below...

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

Think I might have goofed, or I'm just not understanding something. I bought the analog amplifier board from @BrunDog and a couple of 5 wire proportional valves. Wiring diagram for the valves is below. This is embarrassing, but I can't seem to figure out how to wire up the valve to the...

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

I'm sure you already know all this, but for others who read about taking this to a drain.... If you go this route, keep in mind that this thing can take essentially zero back pressure (unless you can seal up your kettle and boil under pressure). If going to a p-trap, make sure to keep the tip...

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

Are you saying that the small amount of steam that's generated sitting at near boiling temps is filling the bucket overnight? If so, no need for a valve. Just submerge the end of the steam slayer hose into a few inches of water. It'll create enough back pressure that it keeps anything from escaping.

First brew day on my High Gravity 10 gallon EBIAB...today questions

A few other things you might try. Open up your mill gap. If you follow the typical single vessel mantra of crush till you can't crush it no more, you're going to end up with a stuck recirculation. And, believe it or not, there is a body of evidence out there that indicates increasing the mill...

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

I think this post answers your first question. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/forum/index.php?posts/8170297 And the second answer is, as you probably guessed, it depends. For instance, I found out recently that you cannot run 5v relays from the MEGA, but I've heard you can from a RPI.

BrunDog 50A eRig - no HLT for me!

What amp meter are you using to to bring this into Brucontrol? I'm assuming you're not using the typical ones with the panel mount display.

    Homemade PBW Recipe

Ah my bad. I meant have you mixed the base ingredients of parcarbonate, metasilicate and the EDTA. I suppose those branded items are the same thing, but was hoping you had bought and mixed the ingredients in their raw form. Humidity is unworldly down here in Houston right now. I can't step...

    High Gravity Custom eBIAB System

Personally, I think the Blichmann design is rather silly when compared to the simplicity of the Submerged Spincycle (link below), which is different than the one with the arm, and should definitely work with your set up...

Going way back for this one. Any issues threading the NPS on this meter to NPT elsewhere in your system?

Thank you, sir, for pointing out what should have been obvious to me. I'm on the search now for old Mega drivers.

Did the first suggestion with no success, and at the moment I don't have another cable. Going to order one today.
