    First kettle sour

If you've pitched the right amount of lacto it shouldn't ever need to sit more than 48 hours.

First BIAB - Very low OG

I'm getting 78-80% efficiency with BIAB and (usually) a 60-75min mash, between 148 and 156F. I have my MM-2 mill set to the typical credit card gap. Easy, consistent.

First BIAB - Very low OG

    1. Figure out your boil-off rate by boiling a couple gallons of water for an hour. 2. Use the Priceless BIAB calculator to determine starting volumes.

New post a picture of your pint

Just posted tasting notes for my BBA coconut-vanilla pastry stout (~13.3%), a year after I brewed it. What a beautiful beer this one is.

    How long an Extract Brewer?

DME produces better balanced beers than LME, in my experience. Also easier to work with.

German Pils Bo Berry Pils (West Coast Pilsner)

Mosaic + Citra was the original Timbo! I think they've changed it up now and are doing a small noble hop bittering charge (Saaz, Opal, Saphir) followed by Mosaic & Nelson in the FO and DH stages.

I also had the latest batch of Timbo on draft today and it blew my mind all over again. I'm definitely going to try my hand...

New England IPA Blasphemy - No Boil NEIPA

Yeah, I used 100% "wheat" DME for my no-boil IPA and it definitely wasn't too wheaty.

    Anyone made miso paste?

So far so good. We had some mold early on but scraped it and re-salted/applied plastic wrap and it hasn't returned. We'll probably stir it for the first time before we head out of town for Christmas. No tamari, which seems odd, but we live in a very dry climate so I dunno. It's possible we...

    Mecca Grade Estate Malts

It was already "only" $2/lb at the LHBS, but to get it at $1.25/lb (or $1.75 in the case of the Rimrock) is gonna be pretty sweet.

Finally got my mill, probably gonna drive up and grab sacks of Pelton, Rimrock, and Shaniko this week.
