Nailed it! still a little cloudy, but taste test sez it all. couple weeks in the bottle and this beer is that crisp, hoppy Torpedo.

    torpedo extra IPA

OK, one week in the bottle and I tried one tonight...It is good! The citra hops that I dry hopped with is still pretty strong but it is a very good tasting beer. I am drinking a SN Torpedo side by side right now am happy w/ this young beer. After a couple weeks when the citra settles down this...

First batch in the fermenter....A reflection.

I am new also and also worried a bit about my first batch! It came out great. I read a how to brew by John Palmer and it was very helpful. I have learned that extracts don't need a full 60 min. boil. There is an article in the March April 2004 issue about extract brewing. Here is an excerpt...

Yes, I did. I believe that I am going to like it better than the SN. It had a nice fresh, hoppy taste to it.

    Stone IPA similar clone?

OK, I have attempted a simple extract recipe for Stone IPA. The ingredients are as follows. 1lb. C60L 9lbs. of light Pale ale LME 2oz. US Magnum 1oz. Centennial 1oz. Amarillo(dry hop) 1 tsp. Irish moss safale-05 Steeped 60L in 3qts. of weak wort(gravity 1.010)for 40 min. @155...

    Coopers IBrewmaster Irish Stout Recipe?

My first batch of beer was Cooper's stout. I added 3lbs. of DME and safale-05 yeast instead of the kit yeast. I let it sit in primary for 2 weeks and then racked for 10 days, added boiled corn sugar and bottled. After a week I had to try one....It was really good! after two weeks, even better...

    extract supplements?

I made a Cooper's stout and a couple Mr. Beer kits and got hooked. I too have a hand full of batches out of the closet. A lot of the changes to improve the basics are in the specialty grains and hops. It seems that a lot of guys start off some steeped specialty grains in the "pre-wort and then...

    torpedo extra IPA

I racked and dry hopped on the 9th. So I will probably bottle on the 19th. I can't wait to taste this beer out of the bottle.

    Opening Experiments- Citra

Noting that comment from Brandonovich, In all the recipes I found w/ Citra, it was only used in the dry hop schedule.

    torpedo extra IPA

Tasted good for a flat IPA. Gonna be around 6.4%ABV The dry hops are going to really set it off.

    Opening Experiments- Citra

If you wanted, as mentioned, dump the 2-row and the 20L and you could steep 1lb of some C60L in your "pre-wort" maybe add 1oz. of magnum @60 and like the guys said I would switch the citra to the end. Sounds good to me though. I just racked/dry hopped my first shot at a SN Torpedo clone and...

Patiently waiting, meanwhile enjoying Ninkasi's and Torpedo. @Bigbopper- The Rockies are still as beautiful as every. We got five foot of snow above 4,000ft. this week. This should make for some good riding this weekend. I ride up around Trestle Creek and Priest Lake, that is close to your...
