Toppling Goliath Sues ex-brewer over Non-Compete Violation

In the trades just about everyone you employ and train goes on to become your competitor and try to steal your clients. Instead of using lawyers we have an interesting technique we use called being better. Perhaps they should concentrate on making better beer and if they can't then they can't...

Lets see if we have any "nerds" here... Time travel question.

If time is relative why don't I ever get presents from it for my birthday? Maybe because time makes fools of us all. Of course assuming a possible time machine is the easy part. Much harder is defining what the I is and how consciousness is manifested. In this scenario we would have to assume...

Correlation between dissolved oxygen and humour tolerance

Add some hop tea? Or just dry hop the hell out of it. I'm going to try the lodo thing, my issues are mainly adding sulphites, but could be good in pilsner. Never really lacked maltiness in other styles TBH. The whole thing I am acutely aware of though it's how much you taste what you expect. I...

Me?! How very dare you?! Oh, wait no you're perfectly correct.

Correlation between dissolved oxygen and humour tolerance

Are there any lodo experiments not done by lodo affiliates that show a positive result? Can't find much myself.. perhaps because it's so dammned effective you instantly join the church and become an evangelist upon taking the triangle test..

Correlation between dissolved oxygen and humour tolerance

Cold side for sure. Don't think that's too controversial. Actually I was just being a bit sarkey as they deleted my perfectly reasonable if frivolous, on topic posts. I am planning to try a low O2 lager, but there's no way I'd put a bundle of cam tabs into a pale ale.. I am just slightly...

Correlation between dissolved oxygen and humour tolerance

The firmness with which a man holds a belief is directly proportional to the effort and sacrifice he has made coming to or defending that belief. I think I have that with my insistence on hand kneading pizza dough... But then I've never handed my wife and kids over to a messianic cult leader or...

Is this something to worry about - floaters/pellicle on top of mead.

Duudes... It's all just, like, semantics and stuff man... What even is words?.. who is anything. Why is mead? Aren't we all mead on the deepest level? Pellicle are a totally awesome band...man. freaking awesome

Correlation between dissolved oxygen and humour tolerance

I suppose Germans always did lead the way on intolerance in brewing, what with their rihngottsgebloombloom law, which I'm pretty sure I spelled rite... There was that other thing that happened a while back, so who knows, maybe it is a real thing.

Correlation between dissolved oxygen and humour tolerance

What about telling you that you've been doing everything wrong, with a largely unreferenced pile of literature, while offering the Solutions with some products only you can provide and being unwilling to listen to opposing arguments reminds you of the Church of Jehovahs witnesses precisely???

More suited to an American light lager like Coors

Correlation between dissolved oxygen and humour tolerance

My German ale is loosing it's spritz and illusive procedural magic by it's proximity to all this so called "humour". So so inefficient!

I find r Kelly gives a bit too much of a sexual criminal flavour to my beer personally.

Correlation between dissolved oxygen and humour tolerance

I've noticed a certain relationship between proponents of the subject of lodo brewing and a general excitement and intolerance of opposing views, again having my relevant but slightly irreverent suggestions of brewing in space or having fish in the mash to scrub O2 deleted as off topic, which...

    Interesting German Brewing PDF

TBH a lot of this doesn't seem very scientific. Like how does a lid being partially on during boil limit O2 contact? Not that I'm saying the general principles aren't correct. I definitely wouldn't go adding that much sulphite to non lagers though. I will try this at some point. Definitely found...

Is this something to worry about - floaters/pellicle on top of mead.

It's probably some kind of Brett. Might give a good flavour. I've found that by the time pellicle forms you can taste, smell whether it's good or bad already.

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Still having problems with o2? I just did an experiment re that issue due to your problems. Neipa recipe, all hops added in whirlpool and active ferment (tonnes), transferred by co2 from ss cronical to liquid purged kegs. The remaining gallon or two I transferred splashing into an air filled...

Weird and probably stupid cold crash question

I just did a bit of an experiment on a neipa with the bulk in zero o2 contact and a portion exposed to the o2 in an unpurged keg and shaken with half a keg of air to force carb. Was pretty amazed by the difference between the keg I'd exposed to o2 and the others after even 48hrs. Both were...

    O2 and neipa exbeeriment

It can, but you'd have to be pretty abstemious to notice any before killing the keg... Especially with alcohol and a tonne of hops in the mix.

    O2 and neipa exbeeriment

Ah.. Well in this case "water" refers to starsan solution, and kegs were fully cleaned beforehand, however I understand that a sanitised keg purged with just tap water wouldn't be a problem for infection in all likelihood. Anyways nope it's no infection, especially as the older kegs are the...
