    The Danby DCR412 works great!

My drip tray is a stainless steel large soap dish (I don't recall exactly what they called it). Found it in the kitchen utensil aisle of the local department store. Looks OK for $8 and will get me by until I can justify spending more.

    home brew shops with attitude

I used to go to one shop that had pretty convenient hours, location and decent stock. But the owner never seemed interested in helping me out. I would be the only one in the store and his answers (when he answered) were always one or two word grunts. I found another shop close by with...

computer fan/project box to cool draft tower; advice on size of fan?

Here is what I have done with the blower hose and the beer lines...does anyone think that putting the beer lines in the blower tube will cool them too much...perhaps freezing them? I am going to let it fly and will report back the results!

computer fan/project box to cool draft tower; advice on size of fan?

I actually had placed insulation in the tower, however I was still getting foam on the first pour. It's not a big deal, but if I can eliminate this problem I'd be a happy camper!

Thanks! I was just about to edit my post and say that I found the answer in the Wiki...next time I'll read the Wiki first! ;)

    Why harvest yeast cakes?

How do you thaw out the yeast? Let it sit at 70 degrees? Can Glycerin be bought at an LHBS? Thanks!

computer fan/project box to cool draft tower; advice on size of fan?

I have started to build one of these tower cooling project boxes and had a question... Should I run the beer lines up through the airline? I made a cut into the plastic airline and fed the beer lines through it and sealed that up...but I am wondering if the cold air passing along the beer...

Collar on a mini-fridge - it can be done!

What about finishing off the top of the collar, make everything flush and putting a tower there? You could even make a DIY tower like this thread... https://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=7656&highlight=tower

Collar on a mini-fridge - it can be done!

Currently, you have the tap centered. Out of curiosity, how do you plan on installing the second?

    Fermentation Foam

I was using an airlock and plastic pail fermenter...and it did clog the airlock. But, a quick cleaning and sanitizing and it was OK after that. I might have to think about getting a 6.5 gallon carboy and blow off tube. Going to try and wash the yeast this weekend after moving to a...

    Fermentation Foam

My last batch was the first time I pitched directly onto the yeast cake...I thought something was wrong because of how fast and active the fermentation was :)

Collar on a mini-fridge - it can be done!

Frankenfridge!! Very cool. Is it able to keep the temp down without running all the time?

    Collar on a mini-fridge?

What model fridge do you have? Cu Ft? You might be able to remove the plastic door panel...this will give you more room without having to add a collar.

Help yer Cap'n out with a Kegging question

One of my lids was bent enough so that I couldn't get a good seal even with new o-rings and 30psi....I ended up having to buy a new(used) lid at my LHBS for $5.

You started. You stopped. You started again...

I brewed a few batches back in the early 90's and had no clue WTF I was doing. And then a couple of years ago, for one reason or another, I decided to look into the beer making thing again...and lo and behold this Internet thingy has a TON of information... I think that the lack of access to...
