Had a Central Waters Belgian Blonde last night and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I got lucky and grabbed the limited edition DVDs when they were out. I have seen the special editions, unfortunately, but I don't have to watch them. Whenever I see them playing on spike, I have a desire to watch them again, so I pop the disk in and watch them as they should have stayed.

This sucks. I made a cider last year that I wasn't very happy with, so I was hoping to do some experimenting this time...maybe that'll have to wait until next year.

I've been reading about the advantages of a stir plate. From what I've seen, they at cheap to buy and even cheaper to make. I ended up ordering one for timing reasons and believe it will be a great investment.

I recently came across a bottle of my first brew from a year and a half ago hiding in my fridge. It was ok, but it really showed how much my technique improved over that first year.

I made a Belgian wit recently, and it was still bubbling away 4 weeks later. I had a starting gravity of 1.055, so it wasn't even all that high to start with. Turned out great, though!

I'm giving a shot to my first starter next week. I'll have to print this out and tape it to the wall behind my stir plate. Even I can follow those directions! Excellent work.

I've only been brewing for about a year now, but luckily I haven't had to dump a batch of beer yet. I came pretty close with a cider earlier this year, though with enough cinnamon it was tolerable. :D
