Burton Baton Replica (combine IIPA and Old Ale)

I tried replying to your message but your inbox was full. My thoughts exactly! Use Beer Smith to get the 10% ABV while keeping the IBU's at 70. I did find the Thomas Fawcett amber malt, which I'm very happy about, and I will try a pound of British medium crystal malt, like you suggested. I...

    Homebrewtalk Carboy Cleaner Giveaway

    Janet's Brown Ale

So toasting the base malt will NOT work? no chocolate notes from toasting? Wish I had chocolate, but can't get it by tomorrow. Just trying to come up with something. How about adding some cocoa powder to the mash maybe, or the boil?

    Aeration Question

Hey guys, Got an aeration question: When using those red O2 tanks you buy at home improvement stores, along with a regulator, a 2' micron air stone, and some tubing, do you still need an SS aeration wand? Or can you just use some small clamps to fasten the stone to the tubing? $35 bucks seems...

    Viewer Discretion is Advised

Everybody was fine, just in complete shock. The pain of losing all that grain hurt more than the minor burns on our feet. We should have never put that cooler on the floor and then try to lift it back up. The weight and the hot temps made the plastic handle snap. Fortunately, we collected 6...

First screw up... boy.. with pic

We actually collected 6 gallons in our first runnings, so we ended up with a nice, high gravity, 5 gal batch. Thanks for the info, this was a recipe we found on Hopville.com, not an exact clone, but a good beer none the less (minus 5 gallons).
