    Spike - Steam Condenser Lid

The primary details I would like confirmed are if the OEM nozzle is removable as depicted in the product guide and if so, what connection to the TC cap does it use, e.g. 1/8” NPT, 1/4” NPT, etc. This way if I purchase one and find I’m not satisfied with the pump configuration, I can easily...

    Mash cap and re-circulation

Success! Almost forgot I bought a barb fitting, so the photo above does not represent the final configuration. But even with the heavier camlock fitting and cap, it still floated at least 1/4” above the waterline.

    Mash cap and re-circulation

Been using spent deep fryer peanut oil. To the point where I’m a few thousandths away from clearing the draw slug on my 13/16” punch. Was originally planning to suspend a perforated SS disk below the return barb outlet using SS standoffs originally purchased for one of many Raspi...

    Mash cap and re-circulation

Thanks, but that’s exactly what I was doing. Unlike my kettle which cut like butter, this was pre-hardened. Snapped both cobalt and standard HSS bits - cobalt bits add up in a hurry. Problem was I was trying to start with 1/16” bits and those couldn’t hold up to the pressure being exerted with...

    Mash cap and re-circulation

This weekend I finally got around to trying to assemble a mash cap using this Kraftware 12” tray I bought on Amazon in 2018 - only $20 back then. Six drill bits later trying to make a pilot hole for my Greenlee punch, I gave up. Too bad because otherwise seemed perfect for my 10 gallon cooler...

    Where to purchase Glycol...now

At Tractor Supply you may need to ask for it. Even though my local store had a product tag on the shelf, they keep the actual product in a stock room. Nice to be able to just grab it locally as needed.

    CraftBeerPi - Raspberry Pi Software

Nice to see a flourish of CBPi V4.0 commits on GitHub this week. Looks to still be a ways off from beta status though.

    Inkbird IPB-16 PID Controller Inquiry

Are you saying that on the new 16S, you can't do this: Press and hold SET for 3 seconds > IP Press AT/RUN > Sn = Pt Press DOWN or UP to cycle through 10 different sensor types Press SET to save? I can on the original. FYI, the Inkbird sensor for the IPD-16 is a Pt100. 99.99% certain the S...

EZBoil DSPR120 - Boil mode always on

Forgot to mention, setting bAST = 0 turns off the boil acceleration feature and then the output will always respond directly to the knob setting.

EZBoil DSPR120 - Boil mode always on

Most likely the EZBoil is in boil acceleration mode. What is the value of bAST (boiling acceleration set temperature) set to in your unit? By default it is set to 200F unless you’ve changed it. When you enter boil mode and your PV (process value), i.e. sensor reading, is less than bAST, the...

Do you need a 1 off Stainless part built for your system? Let's discuss it.

Placed an order online tonight after calling the store earlier in the day to confirm a particular part is available. Spoke with Becky and she reported Victor, co-owner with Jay, didn't yet know the status of his home, but that everyone else in the store still had theirs. Also contributed $50...

    Inkbird IPB-16 PID Controller Inquiry

From display mode 2 (showing PV and SV values), hold SET for 3 seconds. The display will change to mode 4 and read IP. Press AT/RUN and the display will read SN for sensor type. Press SET and the display will read SC for sensor calibration. Use DOWN or UP to adjust the value of SC to the...

    Inkbird IPB-16 PID Controller Inquiry

Did you change the sensor calibration setting after switching to the ebay probe? I had to. Then again my solder joints aren't perfect and needs some sort of collar between the cable and the sleeve of the connector that I used - too loose.
