Guide to set internal chest freezer thermostat to >32F; Eliminate external control

Like ChshreCat said, your screw is facing toward the floor in the pic you posted. So you need to mount the cover back onto the keezer and remove the stock fine adjustment knob. The set screw is under that.

Guide to set internal chest freezer thermostat to >32F; Eliminate external control

What temperature are you trying to end up at? If I were you, I'd bring it back to 33.4 and then adjust my fine adjustment to the max setting and see what happens.. Assuming that you have a fine adjustment on your freezer. What make/model freezer are you using?

Frigidaire 7.2cf = 1/2 Barrel (full size) keg??

Can't find my digi camera but here's a pic I snapped with my iphone. Should give you a good understanding though. You could fit 2 additional 1/6 kegs in there too if you mount the Co2 and regulator on the outside. A full keg is more than enough for us though. Good luck! :mug:

Guide to set internal chest freezer thermostat to >32F; Eliminate external control

Glad to hear you got it all worked out! :mug: I had to do some serious turning on my set screw also. I think I cranked it 8 full turns the first time, then about 2 turns the opposite way to correct my overshot. Your circulation fan probably helped out a lot as well. That was the last thing I...

Converting the Frigidaire 7.2 cu ft Chest Freezer

There is no reason why it should be fluctuating so much. Are you checking the ambient temperature or the temperature in a glass of water? I have very consistent temps on my glass of water/brew.

It probably kicks on once every 45 minutes.

Converting the Frigidaire 7.2 cu ft Chest Freezer

When I was messing around with mine, the warmest that it got was mid 50's. But the set screw was probably 1/2 or a full turn from being tight. You'd have to check it for yourself once you're set up. There's no way I'm ever touching mine again :D

Converting the Frigidaire 7.2 cu ft Chest Freezer

It's not a huge deal, but when you smooth it out, you are pushing the caulk deeper into the crevice which gives you a better seal. Also it eliminates tiny "missed spots" that can let out condensation. It's not the end of the world though and definitely not worth redoing. I didn't count...

Converting the Frigidaire 7.2 cu ft Chest Freezer

Sorry it has taken me so long to post these. The handle was made from a sliding glass door handle that I picked up from Lowes. I sanded it down and stained it the same color as the collar. Then gave it a coat of gloss. Gotta represent the hbt forums! Here, you can see my computer...

Converting the Frigidaire 7.2 cu ft Chest Freezer

I don't see a problem with putting a bead of silicone on the joints. I had to do the same thing on the corners of my collar, as well as a couple of spots around the seal. Just make sure you smooth it out nice and even. Edit.. Honestly though, I doubt it's going to help your moisture problem...

Frigidaire 7.2cf = 1/2 Barrel (full size) keg??

Well it's my brother and myself picking it up and lowering it into the keezer. Honestly its not a big deal. We lift it up sideways, one at each end, and clear the collar, after that it's just a matter of rotating it right side up. We've changed it out twice since I first posted with no problems...

Guide to set internal chest freezer thermostat to >32F; Eliminate external control

Just want to get another thanks to the OP! I'm pouring brew now pretty consistently at 38 degrees. Saved me at least 50 bucks and some electrical work.

Frigidaire 7.2cf = 1/2 Barrel (full size) keg??

Yeah I've actually got another 1/6 tapped right now. There is room for 2 1/6 kegs and the 1/2 but I've got to mount my co2 on the outside for that to be possible.

Frigidaire 7.2cf = 1/2 Barrel (full size) keg??

I would like to report back with success!! The 1/2 bbl keg did indeed fit inside the keezer! The actual size of the miller brewing company keg was less than 16 inches and with 2 people, it fit in with relative ease. Hopefully this information will help future Frigidaire owners with sizing...

Here's the exact measurement.. Seems a bit closer to 16 1/4" at second glance.

Frigidaire 7.2cf = 1/2 Barrel (full size) keg??

I recently finished converting my Frigidaire 7.2 deep freezer into a keezer. Problem is, when I bought the thing I just "eyeballed" the inside and thought I'd have no problem fitting a 1/2 barrel inside it. Well that procrastination is now turning into a reality and I'm worried that I don't have...

Guide to set internal chest freezer thermostat to >32F; Eliminate external control

I'm at the very beginning of my conversion right now. I have read in other topics that you can fit three 5gals on the floor and possibly 2 more on the compressor hump(depending on how tall you make your collar.)
