    Gas line question

From my reading I've formed an opinion that you run the shortest gas lines possible. In my case, I'm tempted to run them in a manner that I can snake them around the walls (see pic). I want to make all of the lines uniform length so I can take any manifold/regulator tap to any keg in the box...

    Can I save my starter?

Not a drop. I did make a decent dent in the SWMBO list and some (not nearly as much as I would like) progress on the kegerator.

    Can I save my starter?

Not sure why I would want to do another starter? I typically pitch "done" starters so yeast isn't high-active anyway. If the cell-count is up, why another starter?

    Can I save my starter?

I'm in Norfolk. I brewed an American Honey Wheat yesterday, and wanted to brew biermunchers Blue Balls (https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f71/blue-balls-belgian-wit-blue-moon-clone-24978/) today or tomorrow. What are you brewing? I was going to split the day between brewing, and finishing the...

    Can I save my starter?

I made a starter for this week-end, but its been a bust with rain today and 50% tomorrow. The starter is fully fermented with no activity. I want to save it until next week-end. Do I: Put the entire starter vial in the fridge? Put the starter slury in the fridge? Set the starter aside...

    Hops Direct Order

When I spoke with their customer service, they offered to cancel the order and allow me to do the order over and specify 2 or 3 day shipping. This was even after they knew the order was enroute and that they would have to trust me to return it. They just wanted me happy. Based on the...

    Hops Direct Order

Hi, I just ordered 8lb of hops from Hops Direct, Cherries Direct - available today from Puterbaugh Farms and left the default shipping to UPS ground. They don't calculate shipping on the order form, so I thought they would contact me with shipping price and delivery times. I got my ups...

    Boost Carb Question

With any luck, I'll have my kegerator complete this week-end, and can begin loading my pipeline. I've read https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f35/keg-force-carbing-methods-illustrated-73328/ at least three times over the week-end and think I've just about got it figured out. If someone could help...

Read this before you buy from Kegkits.com

I don't want to attempt to defend Tom or KegKits - but will share my experience. Its not all positive, but has a happier ending to many of those on this thread. Doing this, just to add *some* balance to the negative. I orders $650+ of kegerator stuff before reading this thread. Because I was...

    Kegging Question - co2 manifold

These prices don't look out of line to me at all. I spent $85 for a freezer off of CL, and similar prices to your parts list. I did, and recommend that you consider upgrading to a 20lb tank. Its about twice as much $125ish, but refills are less. I pay 7 more to fill a 20lb tank than my buddy...

Witbier Blue Balls Belgian Wit (Blue Moon Clone)

Thanks for the quick response - I hope to brew this week-end. Are the oats in addition to the grain bill, or in place of two pounds of something else (wheat or 2 row)?

Witbier Blue Balls Belgian Wit (Blue Moon Clone)

4.50 lb Pale Malt Crisp (UK) (3.0 SRM) 4.50 lb Wheat, Flaked (1.6 SRM) Can you help a new AG brewer out. I bulk bought a bunch of grains so I could brew what I wanted without going to the store. I have a 50lb bag of 2 row and 50lb bag of white wheat malt, both Briess. Will these work for...

drinking beer straight from the fermenter

I've enjoyed some of my beers at bottling time enough that I put a pint or two in the Fridge to drink flat. Not sure how well I'd enjoy an entire batch that way. If you do decide to try it, make sure you age your beer (primary and-or secondary) to take off some of the green edge.

Fusel's and too low final gravity

This is actually what I'm concerned about. I walked past the carboy's just in time to see one bubble so there is still pressure there. These will be in a glass secondary and off of the trub for a minimum 1 week maybe 2 waiting for the kegerator to be finished. If the gravity continues...

Fusel's and too low final gravity

It is very possible I mashed at a lower temperature - maybe even 150. This was my "first" all grain batch (which is why I overshot the gravity so much) and had thermometer problems. Pretty sure the gravity is right, we used a refractometer, that had been properly zeroed out, and because it was...

Fusel's and too low final gravity

Hi, Contamination, left beer on trub too long, or just worrying to much? We just moved a chocolate stout to secondary after 7 weeks on the trub. Thing is, this one never completely stopped bubbling which concerned me. I have this fear a bug or something got into it and was eating all...

    Fly Sparging Question

I find that the MLT flows slower than the HLT, and I've always attributed that to grain bed. Getting these right take me quite a while. I concentrate on MLT rate first, shooting for 60-90 minute sparge. I'm adjusting the rate while "clearing" and recycle what I'm catching - it generally takes...

    New Keezer and Collar Question

Thanks for the catch. I actually spoke with the store today and my order won't go out until tomorrow. I've updated the tank to 20 pound. Bob

    New Keezer and Collar Question

I might have time to change the order (I haven't gotten the ship notification yet). How many kegs will I get out of a 5' tank, for some reason I thought it would go 12ish?

    New Keezer and Collar Question

I'm brand new to this so I might be way wrong, but the "utility" uses require adjusting the PSI a lot. The tutorials I seen here and on youtube show disconnecting or "shutting off" air to the downstream system when you do this. I don't want the bother. Additionally, if I get a beer that can't...
