IPA: Fermentation seems slowed/stopped, no aeration

+1, Airlock is not a good indicator. I like to see the gravity hit bottom and hold for 2 or so days. Then I know it's done. It sounds like it was a good yeast pitch and warmer temps for the fermenter. Can speed things along.

Never used the shark bite fittings but am impressed. If it wouldn't have doubled the cost of the rig, I would have done them instead of sweating fittings.

    Lifting kettle off burner

I opened the back end of the burners up by lowering the 1.5" tubing down in the rear. The wind shield/burner mount also opens up to allow excess heat out of the rear.

I found mine at Autozone. It's VHT Flameproof. Not engine block paint. It said it was flat orange, but after I shot a coat of hi-temp clear it turned more of a Hemi orange. The Black is the same stuff and the primer too. I baked the black the same way. Turned the burners on for 5-10 minutes...

Yes, even in the rain for the first brew, it had me more relaxed and able to enjoy the brewing day. paint is holding up great. All 2000 degree paint.

After viewing all the cool rigs this winter I made it my spring project to upgrade mine. Nothing fancy, but has made brewing easier and allows for expansion. i just roll it out of the garage, hook up the water and brew.

    Prices for grains

Wow. My LHBS is charging around 3.50 a lb for base malts. Milled fresh but man. I ordered mostly from Austin but in a pinch I pay.
