    Tap Lines question

I have plastic running all the way to the back of the tower. Metal looks like a nice concept but I am not sure as far as corrosion either. Another Article that helped me set it up was here http://beersmith.com/blog/2011/07/14/keg-line-length-balancing-the-science-of-draft-beer/ Allow you to...

    Reasonably Priced Plastic Fermenter

Well I think it is a good idea if it can be done. I have heard of people using tanks similar to these ones http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/item.aspx?itemid=25201&catid=513 for a 75 gallon it is $200 and it is FDA approved for liquids with a SG of less than 1.7 As far as sanitizing the beast...

Natural Gas Burner and Stand does it exist?

brewguyver - I would love to have a single tier with a few of those and and pumps but I think the mrs would kill me for dropping a grand on just burners. I was thinking about doing a hybrid system with a temp controlled electric mash tun (110v) then the gas boil pot. Still have not figured out...

Natural Gas Burner and Stand does it exist?

Its right at 90k btu. Which i believe is enough to do a 20 gal so a 10 gal should be fine. Someone correct me if i'm wrong. Thanks for the response brewguyver.

    Deep Six needs *your* help!

This sounds and looks awesome! Any chance on a new pick of the ceiling to see how things are coming?

Natural Gas Burner and Stand does it exist?

It feels a little like beating a dead horse after reading through all of the treads on here but here goes. I have moved into a house that has a gas line right where I am putting my brew setup. I am trying to move out of the kitchen off of the stove and want to go with a natural gas burner to...

Can i bottle at FG 1.013?

Typically 2 weeks in primary 2-3 in secondary to allow the beer to mature enough to be bottled and taste decent. Reaching your FG is is a good sign but the yeast still needs time to clean up after itself :) If you already knew that sorry. Happy Brewing -BBS

Infection after bottling or cause of sediment...

Sour or Cidery Could be Lactobacillus? It gets stronger over time and made a few of my batches less than drinkable.

    Sediment after Bottling

Also once the yeast is in your gut good chance it will make you unpleasant to be around

Honey Weizen not looking too good

What temp are you conditioning your bottles at? It is getting towards winter if its in a cold place perhaps bring them indoors and give them another week or so?

    In need of advice

Sounds like a good plan. When I switched from Mr. Beer to a larger kit one thing I was never told was to sanitize the yeast packets. They are foil for a reason. Rehydrating the yeast IMO is an extra step for things to get contaminated. Most brands recommend pitching directly into the wort...

    First Brew Night

I bet its nice to be back home with all of your new toys :D Those look like they should be great. The pumpkin should be completely fermented after 2.5 weeks and ready for transfer. Then another 2 weeks in the keg and it should be carbed and good to go. Not sure on the flavor of it but it can...

    Reduction and equipment concern

I still think that the smaller batches are a great way to try a recipe to see if you like it or not. Also a great way to experiment. I have done 1,2,3 gallon batches in various sized vessels. I have 1 gall and 2.5 gall swing top bottles I picked up at my LHBS that work great. Just picked...

Pumpkin ale first all grain adventure

Well Cdimza its all down hill from here. IIRC my first AG brew day took about 8 hours from start to finish but I did not experience the problems you had. Sounds like a good selection of spices you put in there. Best of luck to you.

URGENT: Need a Porter for Pastor Peter, Post-haste

Well... Its gonna depend on what kind of porters he is a fan of. I personally am a fan of the less hoppy, smooth porters. Around here its Deschute's Black Butte Porter, Odelle's Cutthroat Porter, or Crooked Fence's 3 Picket Porter. I enjoy adding Roasted Barley to my porters for a bit of a...

    Good starter brews for beginners?

Hello and welcome to the addiction. I enjoyed the Negra Modelo and made a 1 gal clone of it as all grain. Listed here http://hopville.com/recipe/1094040 Not sure if you have AG equipment or if you are still working with extract. I did a new castle extract that turned out decent but I would...
