    BIAB Brewing (with pics)

I can do 8.5 gallons and ~13.75lbs of grain - that takes me right to the max level I can work at. The recipe this weekend has a 90 minute boil, so I need to start with 9.3 gallons of water and it calls for almost 15lbs of grain. Beersmith says I need 10.5 gallons of space.

Keg to Keg Xfer with gas return

I have heard mention and even seen a picture of a keg to keg transfer where both kegs were under pressure, one was simply higher than the other and it caused a siphoning effect to move the beer. I have inferred this to mean that there is no pressure relief burping and would mean little to no...

    BIAB Brewing (with pics)

So I am planning a big beer for this weekend with a 90 minute boil. Based on my boil off, batch size and amount of grain I am not going to have enough space in my kettle to start with all the water. Beersmith says I need 10.5 gallons of space, my kettle is 10. I don't like going above 9.5...

    Danby DAR044

I have a DAR440BL and can fit 2 ball lock kegs with no modifications other than taking the door plastic/shelves off. I did not cut anything, rather I removed the whole door shelf panel and replaced it with a piece of plexiglass. It fits 2 kegs great.

    3 Gallon Kegs

Is all stainless steel food grade? I always assumed a pot stamped "NSF" is made with materials and in a facility that is likely safer than the place that makes stainless car exhaust parts.

    3 Gallon Kegs

They are also not NSF rated (no proof of being foodsafe if you are into that sort of thing)

    Kegs with NON-removable poppets

It was listed on the description: "Disassembly of new kegs (including the removal of posts) voids the warranty and can cause damage to the keg." and then further confirmed in email: "Thank you for your interest and email. They're AEB made in Italy. Note with new kegs the posts are not...

    Kegs with NON-removable poppets

I was informed (while looking to purchase new AEB kegs) that the posts are "not removable" and that any attempt to do so would invalidate the warranty. Is this something new with the AEB kegs? I cant see cleaning and sanitizing well without being able to remove the posts.

Food safety of polyester/nylon mesh? (Bittering hops bag, BIAB, and dry hopping)

I posted a similar question last year, never got a great answer ( https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f11/biab-food-safe-bag-350276/ )

    Unique BIAB Kettle Question

I know you said you are set on 10gallon but be sure you really can fit what you want it it (not batch size but gravity) I do BIAB in a 10 gallon pot and pretty much top out at 13.75 lb of grain. A 15 gallon pot would allow me to do higher gravity 5 gallon batches. I would also allow me to do...

    tall boy kettles from nb

I am really interested in these too. I am currently using a 10 gallon update international/megapot and I would like to lower my boiloff rate. It seems the taller narrower kettle would help with that (and allow me to do bigger BIAB batches!) Cant wait to hear some reviews.

Went for a 10 gallon bayou brew pot... coming in the mail... but ughhhh...

I can fit 8.5 gallons of water and just under 14lbs of grain in my 10 gallon kettle - its right at the top but it fits. If my boiloff was not so bad I could start with less water and more grain for bigger beers but I get by for now.

    BIAB Brewing (with pics)

Given that should I just transfer the entire boil kettle contents to the fermenter and just let it settle out there?

    BIAB Brewing (with pics)

I completed my 3rd or 4th BIAB today. I crushed my grain fairly fine (.30 on barley crusher) and hit 76% efficiency pre boil. My only issue with the process I have so far is the crazy amount of trub and cloudy wort - does anyone have tips for this? Today for example after cooling I had 5.5...

American IPA Bell's Two Hearted Ale Clone (close as they come)

Brewed this again today, BIAB with slight modifications to account for my low efficiency. 5.25 gallons of wonderful smelling wort @1.064 is now in my fermenter!

    Midwest Supplies

Midwest does not call out that Centennial might be substituted with Centennial Type at all - it simply says Centennial. Other sellers list both Centennial and Centennial Type as separate items to avoid confusion. Add to that not responding to inquiries about the order = no more orders from...

    Ordered centennial got centennial type

I used their web form to submit my concern, it was sent on 11/16. I have not had good luck with the web chat, their site seems to be flakey - like right now, looks to be completely down.
