    Star san storage

Thanks for the reply. If it's worth it, I wouldn't mind buying bottles of distiller water, but if it is still good from the time I sanitize my fermenter to the time I sanitize my equipment for bottling using starsan made with tap water, then I see no reason to use distilled water.

    Star san storage

I recently came into possession with a 5 gallon hdpe 2 plastic bucket with a lid. I was thinking I could use it to store starsan but I have no idea of this is a good idea or not. So if I do use it to store starsan about how long will it be good for? I know that if it gets above a certain ph that...

    Bi Polar Bear >30% ABV

Actually now that I think about it, what I did was a pretty bad estimate for freeze concentration... That flame test was a really good idea though. Hope you get it figured out

    Bi Polar Bear >30% ABV

At 11.5% for 5 gallons... .115 x 5 = .575 gallons of alcohol .575 / 1 gallon = .575 Roughly 57.5% not counting any alcohol you may have removed during the freezing process.

    Scary movies

Personally... I love scary movies. Nothing make me feel more alive than being on the edge of my seat waiting to see what's going to happen next. I don't really like the mounted camera/first person type of movies though... But that's just my 2 cents and to each their own.

    Best Home Brew Books?

I guess I should have included that some of the stuff in that book has been changed and modified like the hop utilization but that's what got me excited about brewing beer

    Cold crashing questions

So after you cold crash, do you let it warm up before you bottle or do you bottle it cold and then let it warm up?

Oxygenating the fermenter in the primary?

kinda off topic but I was wondering how long Better Bottles last? And can you use like the same cleansers and sanitizers as glass? Not trying to pick a fight or anything but I havent decided which material I wanted to get.

Chloramine boils off in 5- 20 minutes according to my water company

Ok everyone calm down... This web page should shed light on some of this... http://hbd.org/ajdelange/Brewing_articles/BT_Chlorine.pdf It states that the half life is somewhere around 26.6 mins but it would have to undergo many half lives to be completely removed... So if you do two half lives...

New to HBT so hello everyone

I finally joined this forum after months of reading. Although I'm yet to brew my first batch, I think I've read enough so that it will go smoothly. I can't wait until I have enough experience to give people the kind of solid advice that the people at HBT can. I'm getting all the equipment I need...
